In short let me rephrase my main point, how should they have planned for this? Who would guess that a 27 yr old back that had just begun to come into his own would retire a week before camp? Dave addressed that by saying Ricky had been to every offseason camp, all meetings, he missed one work out all offseason, had taken a leadership role on the team. Those are indications of a player that is ready for the season, not a player wanting to retire. You cant plan for an injury unless that player is always injured. Ricky when we traded for him was back into football, he was excited about the game, dedicated himself. BY his own actions that didnt seem to change this offseason. So how were they supposed to plan for this?
