And just like that we get two starters at Will and Sam to round out our LB core that oozes utility and athleticism. Reddick, Alonso, and Anderson are your day 1 starters at linebacker and both rookies could also put their hand in the dirt and play edge if needed. Jarron Jones has great size at 6'5 315, looks to have long arms yet doesn't utilize them as much as you would like, but that's what coaching is for. Rayshawn looks to be a pretty big hitter, takes good angles, and has some great size coming into the NFL at 6'1 220. Marquel Lee looks like a very active, rangy linebacker that instantly becomes a special teams player and bolsters the LB core once again. Tedric Thompson is quite intriguing, looks to be in that Peppers mold as that hybrid SS/Nickel player that can roam and make plays in the flats.

Haven't looked up too much of the corners, particularly the later rounds, but definitely another corner will be in play, any suggestions on that would be sweet.

So my base starters would look like this:

CB- Maxwell, Howard
FS- IAQ
SS- Jones
LB- Reddick, Alonso, Anderson
DL- Wake, Suh, Phillips, (JPP?)

I love Ryan Anderson. That is one heck of a player there. Probably a two-down guy, but great in run support which Miami needs.

I haven't seen Hassan Reddick, but definitely a guy who is moving up and looks intriguing on tape. Sounds like he's versatile and can rush the passer. That's huge.

Definitely would be down with going all defense. Honestly, if the Dolphins vastly improve at linebacker and guard I'd consider that a successful offseason.

Those two spots were our downfall this year, if we actually had some healthy players at LB who knows how good our defense could have been? I love Anderson as well, I think he's going to elevate his game big time once in the league.

The only thing I'm not sure of there is leaving Alonso in the middle. Anderson strikes me as a New England Patriot type in that you just don't see him making mistakes. I think there's a chance he could be there at 54.

In that scenario you surely put Anderson at Sam, Reddick in the middle and Kiko at Will. Kiko and Reddick in nickel with Anderson as a sub package rusher.

Jarron Jones is a huge talent. Huge. But our record with 2nd and 3rd rounders is awful and we have no 4th rounder. I really want to see us land a starter with our third. If Jarron starts, he could be a monster. Maybe only some of the time, though- not every game is a highlight reel. But if he's injured again (he missed his Fr year, then did his MCL, then sprained his foot, then did his Lisfranc), it'll be yet another wasted top 100 pick. If we had a 4th and he was there, I'd take the risk.

I think Slimm said he thought Anderson's best position might end up being MLB. Not sure about Reddick there, but again I've only seen highlights and read some early scouting reports. Sounds like he's a quick learner and very versatile. With his athletic ability, I think he needs to be rushing the passer a lot regardless of position.

This is the type of draft, with the talent on defense, where Miami should be able to get a starter in round 3. Some good offensive players may fall as well due to teams snagging those defenders.
