IMO we are alot like the Bengals. We had Wanny and he took our team down the toilet. We got our Marven Lewis in Nick Saban and things are changing, He (Saban) is getting his players (Ronnie Brown/Channing Crowder/Travis Daniels with more to come hopefully QB) and getting rid of the guys that are a problem (Still to come) Just as Marvin Lewis got his guys (Carson Palmer/Rudi Johnson) and got rid of the problems (Dillon/Spikes/Warrick). My point is it takes some time, but if you look at the Bengals you can see what a good Coach will do. Just look at all of the top teams Colts, Broncos, Steelers, Panthers, and the list goes on, what do all of them have a good coach and yes good Qb’s. Give Saban a few years to fix all of Wannys problems. We will be 8-8 and beyond soon.

agreed... unfortunatly, fin fans demand perfection immediatly...

we are spoiled with constant winning seasons... they dont take a loss very well...

We can be a lot more like the Bengals if we draft a USC QB in the first round. ;)

    Good post.

Seriously who has Saban brought in himself that hasn't really produced?

Maybe McDougal, and Linehan, although I could argue Linehan is still trying to get familiar with his talent, and the lack of play isn't Linehans fault? other than that I can't think of anybody...

Saban really has an easier task considering it is much easier to get free agents to come to a city like Miami than it is to get someone to go to a town like Cincy.

its true... think of who he has brought in...

    Ronnie - stud
Roth - has been great vs. the run
    Crowder - an animal
Daniels - even though teams try and pick on him, he still has been solid
    Shulters - solid
TBucky - injured... but was solid before the injury
    Kevin Carter - Played outstanding
    Holiday - solid
Traylor - he is a BEAST
Tillman - Been a very solid backup saftey and filled in well for Tebucky

    McDougle - sucked
Sparagan - played aight... not great
Gus - just isnt a starter

It's a shame that the JJ defensive draft picks are geting so darn old. Probably wont be around to share the fruits of this labor.

Well siad, but I think this will fall on deaf ears. People are set in their ways and want instant results especially Phin fans. Good post...I happen to agree.

good point about Tillman... I added him ;)

but for real... look at the guys Saban has brought in?! All performing well except for a couple... give him another year or 2 of this, and then people will see the effect Saban is having...

I think in 3 years we will have no Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor, Sam madison as much as I love Zach and Jason they are getting old and will end up being traded while they still have value.

People will be surprised at how quickly the bengals lose in the play offs. theyve had the softest schedule in the nfl. wins agains houston, cleveland, minnesota, chicago, tennessee, baltimore.. you get the point. The only two above average teams theyve played ( jags and steelers) theyve been outplayed pretty well, they didnt hold the lead in either of those games i believe.

Zack was picked in the 5th round of 96. Taylor, I believe was a 4th rounder the same year. I can't remember about Sam... I think it was 97 or 98 in the 3rd + rounds

yeah palmer and chad are amazing...theres no doubt that the bengals will be a great team in years to come, they have great young players too...but look at how long its taking marvin lewis, this rebuilding process can be long.

zach was a 5h!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no way! I cna' tbelieve that no way. i dont have faith in players after the 4th n pushing 4th rd loll dont ask why i just dont even tho players become good in those rds as well. the prime/aggressive/rising of our D was waht? about in 2000 correct? so tahts about 3-4 yrs of building, oh wow, this can suck for us but we alreayd ahve these good players on our team so it might not be as long n' painful as it was back then w/out those players n waiting to see what woudl come out of them. i wonder if zachs stock dropped or he was just an ok undersized guy n was worth a 5th back then.

you hit the nail on the head--we are spoilt and expect to win. the sooner people realise we are only the second or third best team in our division, let alone the rest of the NFL the better

he was considered an undersized overachiever in college... he was rated around a 5th round pick...
