Isn't that crazy! The Qb has to run because so far he's much better at that and can't be trusted to throw.

Perhaps I'm being biased here but i can't recall Tannehill being that bad at throwing 5 yard passes. Bortles is missing easy dump off stuff.

If this proves anything, it's that you can't evaluate a quarterback based on box scores.

I know which quarterback I'd take on my team, and I know which quarterback everyone else would want on their team, and it's not even close.

Is it really that important to hang on to the belief that Tannehill can't get a team to the playoffs that you're willing to prop up Bortles? WTF?

I've seen Tannehill play poorly, but it usually coinicides with the entire team playing poorly. Especially the OL. I don't think I recall a game where Tannehill was the only thing that was bad.

Maybe Houston his rookie year and the Rams last year?

Never. He was never this bad. And I'm pretty sure he will never be this bad.

I am not propping up Bortles. I am using the same argument everybody is using propping up Tannehill vs Smith. As far as I care at this point neither QB is good enough to carry a team through the playoffs. Tannehill had a good stretch last year and if he can keep that up for a season I buy into it. I don't believe in that imaginary high ceiling he is supposed to hit the last few seasons.

I really doubt many of the doubters would. I've already read posts dismissing his performance last season and the games with his starting OL over the 2014 and 2015 seasons as "something any QB could do".

I gave Tannehill plenty of credit for last year and always said if he keeps that up I believe in him. The injury was very unfortunate because I would have loved to see him last season. But at this point everything is discussed here is merely speculation.

What game do you think was Tannehill’s worst and I’ll go back and watch it again.

Can't find it. Tannehill has never been so bad that he couldn't complete dump off passes.

Off hand....since Buffalo is playing today: Buffalo and Jets in 2013.
If I go through some of the games I can find more recent examples as well.

Anyone would play a bad game if their line gave up 7 sacks too.

The only watchable thing about this game has been the videos of drunk Bills and Jags fans jumping through tables.

Don't bother. Your question is more rhetorical anyways. Bad games by Tannehill are historically somebody else fault.

    Case in point

That's why they are called a football TEAM, bro. Acting like he is the reason they lost the games is just being disingenuous.

Now if you say I’m biased, there’s really no point continuing this discussion. Keep believing that Blake Bortles is on the same level with Ryan Tannehill.

Remember it has to be worst than Bortles today. Assuming he even completes a pass for a fair comparison. Lol!

One of the bad Tanehill games That sticks in my mind was the three pick game at home against the Titans a while back. That game was brutal.

Well that was a knock out. As in he actually looked like he got knocked out. Sucks to end your playoff game like that.

This was the one ending 38-3 or something, right? I think the first half of the 2014 Packers game, which Philbin ultimately lost, was one of the worst halves Tannehill had. He picked his game up in the 2nd half though.

I fought your notion that Tannehill is twice as good than Bortles. Don't change the argument.

    And yes, you are biased.

What a ridiculous play by Jalen Ramsey.

Also, Ryan Tannehill isn't twice as good as Blake Bortles. He's like, at least five times as good as Blake Bortles.

Please stop that. You are one of the people who attributes wins to Tannehill. You are using win/loss as a Tannehill stat when it is convenient and if not it is a team game. Always been that way. In your eyes (and others) Tannehill has never ever done wrong ever. Every bad game, even the ****tiest game by him, is the fault of the team.

This forum is doing that for the last 5 years. So spare me this TEAM stuff which has become a convenient and lousy excuse.

We're talking about Blake Bortles, bro.

Guy is Exhibit A in Colin Kaepernick's case against the NFL.

I'm not even making any comment about Tannehill when I say he's like five times better than Blake Bortles.

The Jags should start Chad Henne next week, I'm not even joking. Guy cost Jacksonville the game vs Tennessee a week ago and if Buffalo had put any points on the board today, he would have cost Jax the game again today.

What kills me is he literally turned into a RB and with very limited passing opportunities(Coaches where scared to let him throw) he still almost gave the ball away 2-3 times in this game.
