Petrino is an offensive wizard, but he has always been one of the worst guys out there in the football world. While he was here at Louisville we won big but would flirt with other jobs and then lie about it to the media and to his boss, AD Tom Jurich. One time an Auburn booster flew on his plane to meet with Petrino. Even after the local media told Jurich who it was Petrino still tried to lie to him by telling him that it was just "some headhunters, no big deal". What he did to the Atlanta Falcons is well documented. They'll probably fire him now but it doesn't really matter. He was probably only going to be at Arkansas another couple of seasons or so before he realized his offense wasn't going to ever win the SEC and leaves for a job somewhere out west (where he's from). This is just going to give Arkansas a leg up on their coaching search.

He's a great offensive mind but a poor human being.

I think his offense works pretty well in the SEC. It struggled against the two best defenses in the country, just like everybody else who played those two teams struggled.

Don't care...Petrino or no Petrino...Saban will continue to curbstomp Ark.

Bye..Bye..Bobby....Petrino ..your FIRED!!!!..What a dipstick

Pretty sad when an SEC school like Arkansas takes swift measures to remove a coach immediately after a scandal when Penn State sits around with their thumb up their asses and tries to defend a guy like Joe Paterno.

Congratulations to the Arkansas Razorbacks on their moral national championship.

Being informed you've been ****-canned by impersonal letter may not be quite as low class as "resigning" mid season by leaving a note in your Atlanta locker room, but it's the kind of karmic payback that happens more often than not.

Like I've always maintained (as recently as it relates to Irsay, Painter and the Colts), Karma is an unforgiving and patient beyotch with a long memory!

Don't know if they won any moral nat'l championship. It's being reported they tried to keep him aboard and reduce his salary and change his contract so he basically had no out at all. He apparently said no to both and then the letter was delivered later.
