We all know what Chris Chambers is capable of. We have all seen him streaking down the field only to have an errant deep pass miss him by a mile. We have all seen him make the one handed catch in the back of the endzone or the short pass he turns upfield for the big gainer. And he was facing double and triple teams all the while.
What does the addition of Booker do for this offense?
It helps every single position.
The moment Booker steps on the field opposite Chambers the defense has to change their strategy. Understand, this guy is not a possession reciever...He was in a possession offense. Over his last four games last year he had 18 catches for 335 yards, an 18.6 yard average....And this is without a viable starter opposite him. See, teams strategy will have to change. Under the current formula, teams play man up on Chambers with safety help over top. This leaves a safety to cover the tight end and a backer to watch the backs. This leaves 1-2 linebackers free to blitz....Which is what teams have been doing early and often to Miami, causing the offensive line, which does not scheme for hte blitzes in the pre-season, to look terrible. (Although they should get a large portion of the blame despite the lack of PT together) Miami has no mismatches in this situation. But, you add Booker and all that changes.
Now, teams have to man up and provide safety help for both Booker and Chambers. If they don't, one of them will get deep. So, lets say they do give both corners and safety help. Now, McMichael is man on man with a linebacker. A mismatch. That means one or two backers have to watch the two backs. Which leaves no more than one free backer to blitz. Something any team can handle and scheme for.

Physically, Feeley is the only QB in the picture who is capable of making teams pay. Now, he must first show teams that he can indeed make them pay when they bring the blitz and fail to double Booker and Chambers or leave a backer on McMichael. But, I think this is something he can do. The term "gamer" was used early one when they acquired him, and it does not seem to be far from the truth. There will be groing pains, there always are. Favre, Manning, Culpepper and Haselbeck (who faces an identical situation) all had growing pains. Feeley is no different, but I feel Miami has gotten a steal from the Eagles....Now it is time for Feeley to step up and prove Spielman and Wannstedt (He is getting all this playing time for a reason) right.

Tune in to the Tampa game...It is going to go a long way towards the fate of this offense.

Alright I am tired of talkin, get the game started already! :roflmao:

TOTALLY AGREE!!!! but if the o-line can't block, AJ won't be able to get enough time to go deep. let's hope for the best...

:cooldude: I believe all this is true based on facts not optimism. We have a serious advantage with Booker in the picture guys. And he's right. It will help everybody. This game means it all!!
No more "Oh, it's ok, it is preseason" F*** That, Its time to make some noise, and with our D finally in there, we will burn the Bucs!!:roflmao:
