Bring back Jackeem Grant!!!

The deal is worth "up to" $13.8 million. We would assume "up to" is doing a lot of work here. The 5-foot-7 return man had been with the Dolphins since 2016 until the Bears acquired him last October. He made a few big plays down the field as a pass catcher in Chicago, but his primary impact was on special teams, where he cracked the top five in punt-return average (11.9 yards). That number was 13.9 when isolated to his time in the Windy City, which would have placed second to only the Giants' C.J. Board. The Browns badly need play-making ability in their receiver corps, but Grant has caught more than 21 balls only one time. He turns 30 in October.

More importantly than who is going to return punts for Miami is who can replace Grant’s off-season workout videos where he looks like he has turned the corner and will be the greatest WR to ever wear a Dolphin uniform?

Look, I haven't even had my coffee and it's not April yet. Yeesh.

And thank you, Cleveland.

No one listens to me.

We have a player with ELITE ABILITY to avoid defenders.

If he can avoid defenders the same way he blocked JESSE DAVIS is our new return man.

I assume McDaniel sees this and this is why he hasn't been released yet

Honestly I just really don't care about the returner role. It used to mean something before they all but outlawed kickoffs. Most of the return specialists like Grant who could actually impact a game are also only return specialists because they are athletic but also didn't have the brains to turn that into a more meaningful role on the football field, so they do stupid things that causes turnovers as much as they contribute impactful returns.

Just find anybody besides the best safety on the team, or your cornerstone young wide receiver, and I'll be happy.

“Don’t have the brains..” wow!

One of the guys we just signed in FA is a returner...Wilson I believe.
At this point Wilson would have to be considered one of the top 3 WR’s on the team. That would mean he will be counted on to play the majority of the plays on offense. Unless they sign another top level WR in free agency or take one in the first round of the draft, I would hate for them to have to use one of their starters on offense or defense as the primary returner on special teams.

I really am not advocating for the return of Grant but they do need to have a primary kick returner who can be effective in that aspect of the game. When Grant was on the team kick returns was his primary role and he was only used as a WR after injuries to the the top WR’s on the team.

I would like to see them add a primary kick returner who can play when others are injured but not be relied on to be a starter on offense or defense. Similar to how Grant was used but a younger and hopefully cheaper replacement.
