Buckley didn't play the slot with us. In his press conference, he talked about having to learn how to play slot while with the Patriots.

Read his quote again. He really was not comfortable with the inside position before he left the Phins. The slot was for the nickle back, (third DB,second team) he was not happy about playing there after being demoted as he was a first round pick and always played the outside corner position.

The reason the saftey help was so late to help Madison is because he didn't have the help on those plays. Its the saftey's job to help the play even if he wasn't in it. That's why you saw them trailing so far behind or late.

I still would rather have Fletcher play the slot man instead of the 1 or 2 on the outside. Anyway it really doesn't matter, the achilles (sp) heal of this defense has always been to spread us out with multiple wideouts and get the favorable match ups. That's why Fletcher was brought in to begin with and it still hasn't gotten us anywhere.
