Friday night at 9:00 on NFL Network. Can't wait to watch this!
Looking forward to it as well. Still miss watching that guy play!
Understand your post bro, but elite QB's come into the NFL every so often. There is a lot of hype every year but very few elite players at the QB position. We were spoiled.
Look at that TD to Ingram. SheeZzz most QBs can't hit a guy like that - Dan did it all the time.
Is this a new show or was this already aired previously?
New. Part of the new season of AFL.
Yea he was special but when he was really rocking is when he had the Marks brothers. Go back and watch the games when the brothers were in their prime. They bailed him out of a lot of not so good throws. He was still the best thrower I ever saw. Arron Rogers next. Then Warren Moon.
if im correct, september 15th is also dan's birthday. 56 this year.
Damn I miss watching him play.
Meh. All 5'9" of both those guys - yeah, that sure made him look good on jump balls and poorly thrown back shoulder tosses - not. Dan made those guys - not the other way around. How do you explain a washed up Nat Moore coming off a 9 catch season, suddenly having a giant revival in his career and snagging more balls than ever at his advanced age? I could go on...
You and me both brother.
Marks bro's were good, but...Dan MADE those guys, not the other way around! What would he have done with truly great WR's or RB or Defense. What if indeed??
What could've been had Shula given Dan a running game and defense like his 70s teams had...Dan most likely would've won multiple rings as opposed to none.
Dan's career QBR was strangely high for that era... Interesting because he pushed the ball down the field and didn't really dink and dunk. I think only Montana had a better lifetime QBR for guys in his era. Just an observation.
Watch him in the AFC championship game against Pittsburgh from the 1984 season. You will not see any more beautiful throws by anyone who has ever played the game than Dan had in that game.
He was so lethal that day. They blew them out even if Pitt made the score somewhat respectable kind of. I remember that game - after the first quarter you never sweat / contemplated that we could lose the game. Dominant performance by no 13.
He can probably still play better than a lot of the QBs we saw on display today.
This is the exact day I became a Dolphins fan! It was awe inspiring watching #13 throw the ball in that game!
It was a beauty of a game to watch!
I was 9 years old and knew very little about football, but I KNEW I was watching something special in that AFC Championship game! If only I knew at the time that I might never see the Dolphins play in another Super Bowl, I would have paid closer attention to that year's and savored it!
It was his prime....but Irving Fryer did his best work with him...as did Keith Jackson....Mark Ingram....etc etc etc
Also....the rules changes Rodgers, Brady, Manning and Brees benefited from can not be overstated....Dan the Man would throw 60/6000 under these rules.
Right on w Fryar, Ingram and Jackson. Dan made every receiver better - even no names like Vince Heflin and Lamar Thomas
Happy 56th Birthday to Dan Marino.
Got my DVR set for this.
Thanks OP. I will be firing up Kodi tonight for sure. Been waiting for this one for a while.
Best I've ever seen. You just don't see a lot of the throws he made in the NFL anymore. Not since Favre retired.
Just texted my son, do not miss it. Hard to explain the player Marino- to anyone who hasn't seen him live.
Hate it that he never made and won the Super Bowl! But a great QB he was.
One of the greatest ever. Easily the greatest pure passer. Thankful I witnessed the career of Marino. A true legend.
So true. I've got 11+ years on my brother and still find myself at a loss for words trying to describe the way he played.
Looking forward to a Mandich "Allll riiiiight Miami" as well. RIP Mad Dog.
Taping it now! Thanks for the heads up bro!
The Greatest of All time.
Man do these games bring back awesome memories being there live, the Bears game the NE game after the Achilles tear.
We're never going to see anything like him again, ever. Thanks for the memories, Dan.
I am f***ing fired up for the weekend now! Some great memories....and some heartbreaking memories associated with ole #13. Imo, the greatest pure passer the NFL has ever seen. Damn, he was fun to watch in person! Have to feel for him when he got emotional talking about his Dad. Tough losing a parent....
Brand spanking new.....in fact, I've been railing for years about how/why there was never a Dan Marino Football Life although they were doing ones about ACTIVE players (Revis, Brandon Marshall!!!???.....idiotic...how can a story be done about a player's football life if it's not yet over and they are still PLAYING??).
About fricking time!!!
That was an enjoyable watch. Dan was, without a doubt, the Man.
