Here's a look at when each Phins player's contract expires. It is a big consideration for all teams in planning and spending for FA's this year. It is unfortunate that, other than Jones, we have no vet player or picks worth accounting for in the near future.

Jones is actually signed through the 2017 season.

This is depressing to look at as it is the expiring contracts from the Jordan/Taylor draft. Jenkins and Simes may be worth keeping but, will cost little. However, let us all not forget that the contract of Dallas is also expiring next year, and we do need to set money aside for him. Sorry, could not resist.

No vets to have to keep, and some with existing contracts may well also be gone.

With this in mind, OV and Miller are looking better and better.

Jones and Cameron would be the only potential free agents of our own that we might want to resign next year.

I checked and they made a mistake. Jones is signed through 2017. Cameron will be decided this year. No money need to be set aside and Tannehill will be restructured down from $20M and Albert is likely gone next year. Add in another $10M cap increase and whatever dead money we will not be able to spend this year will be credited to be used next year.

This is why I have been saying that we do not have any cap problem in spending now IF the right players are available.
