Lets bring him in and kick the tires.

Would be a great option at this point.
This is the guy I want. He is an injury risk, but If Philbin is serious about running an uptempo offense, well then their is no more uptempo offense in the NFL then NE and he is use to playing RT in it and playing it well.
6mil per...would be worth the gamble.
It would give the Patriots a cheer.
does this report mean the Albert deal is dead?
Injury prone ... while I'd like to have him, I'm not sure how good of an investment it will ultimately be. Realistically, if he goes away from New England, any place is a good place. He's a better pass blocker than Winston, but if he comes here, I'd play Vollmer at LT, because he's a better pass blocker than Martin and that doesn't come cheap in FA.
Don't know too much about the guy but is he better then Martin? I'd imagine he is better so far since he has the experience so why wouldn't we put him at LT?
I think big jeff is on a mission!
I thought the Albert deal was just speculation not really anything going on there.
The Patriots are acting as if they are preparing to lose Vollmer. They signed Will Svitek from the #Falcons & did their due diligence on Eric Winston. Also don't rule out the Steelers when it comes to Branden Albert, remember the Steelers were in the market for Jake.
Basically if we have any holes on our team, were rumored to be interested in everyone who is available at those positions.
Ah man, this must mean that KC rejected our offer "or" that Ireland must've not liked the type of contract that Albert is seeking....
Albert signed the tag so he may just feel I have guaranteed $9mil to play for a playoff contender and would hit the lottery next offseason as a FA. So why would i settle for less than $11mil per year?
CBSSports.com is reporting the Eric Winston visited with the Pats and that the Dolphins may emerge as potential suitors for Sebastian Vollmer.
Vollmer is listed at 6'8" 320. At the combine in 2009 he ran a 5.1 in the 40, did 32 reps on the bench press and had a 36" vertical jump.
He is still only 28 i believe as well.
Not for anything near Longs contract, please. Back troubles!
Vollmer + Dumerville/ OSI/Abraham then draft Tavon Austin at 12, double up on CB in the 2nd, FS and offensive lineman in the 3rd.
Better not be for a anything close to what Long got. If we give Vollmer 6-7 mil I'm gonna puke
Be careful not to kick the tires to hard this guy breaks easy.
Jake is a sell out.... take this dude or Winston and we win the debate end of story....
Do you think austin will be there at 12? and do you think we would pull the trigger on that?
Lets get him!
Yes to Vollmer! Plus he brings a winner's attitude to the OL and team.
Vollmer has played 4 seasons and in that time has missed 13 games due to injury. that's almost an entire season. He has chronic back issues that cause him to miss playing time. there is a reason the Pats are not interested in him. Winston on the other hand is every bit as good and hasn't missed a single game in 6 years. That's who we should be considering.
Walking back injury. I think I'd rather get Winston and bring a bit of nastiness to the right side.
YES....yes......YES, sign him now period end of story, Sebastian Vollmer is a BEAST at RT, plus he can play abit of LT if needed.........SIGN him NOW Jeff
So your telling me he is a boob at RT then. :chuckle:
