Dolphins sign Probowl Kick Return Clifton Smith

I would expect Reitz or Parcells gets the boot with this signing. Though I wouldn't be shocked if they try and stash Wallace on the PS.

LOVE this pick up. I feel bad for him - wanting to play in GB so badly and all, but if he gets a KR for a TD, he can do a flipper flip into the stands.

Free agent KR Clifton Smith is reportedly set to sign with the Dolphins.
The Dolphins were far from convinced that Nolan Carroll and Patrick Cobbs were the answer on kickoffs returns. Smith is likely to take over punt-return duties from Davone Bess as well. If healthy, he's one of the best specialists in the business.

Gerald Alexander would be nice in Miami!!! Also welcome to Miami Clifton Smith you will do great here!!!

We already gave him the boot earlier today, Nubs. :chuckle: I think you mean "Jermey Parnell."

Personally, I'd leave the WRs alone. Most of the league would bring Wallace in for a look, they wouldn't all keep him--but he'd be out of Miami. I would hate to see that since we gave up on Turner. A huge WR to pair with Marshall in some sets would be very threatening indeed.

What about Robert Rose possibly being waived? Seems like we have sufficient depth at the 5-technique.

Hmmm wouldn't mind lex getting cut at all but I think it will be the no names that got picked up.

No way Micah gets cut IMO cuz crowder is injury prone it seems and carpenter replaced Anderson on the roster

I don't think Lex goes anywhere. He likes knocking heads on ST too much, and provides good depth behind the three RBs ahead of him... one of which is old and two of which are returning from injury.

just in time!

although (i think) i prefer the nolan carroll (kicks) and marlon moore (punts) to cobbs and bess, having an electrifying return guy on the team makes such comparisons irrelevant.

if we are at 53 and need to cut somebody, it'll likely be someone they can stash on the practice squad (last i checked there were only 7 guys on there). one of the waiver claims from this past weekend.

****, I think that's a good thing. Now he's going to play with a chip on his shoulder.

anybody know if his 4 fumbles in 2 years were all kick/punt returns ?
