According to Tym's agent, the Dolphins have signed WR Brian Tyms to a 2 year contract to remain with the Dolphins. Tyms spent the majority of 2012 on the Dolphins practice squad.

Looks like we're re-signing the practice squad players. They re-signed Alex C...whatever his name is last week before the last game.

What the hell ever happened to Hogan? Did he finally wash the rest of the way out?

Hogan is with the Bills. We released him a long time ago. And yes we also signed DT Chas Alecxih from the practice squad. He was in training camp with us and on our practice squad all of 2012.

Tight End Les Brown was cut before the season even began. No other team looked at him.

I'm sure next August I will post something like "never heard of him."

Odds are he is the next Marlon Moore as a ceiling but you never know. He could be the next Miles Austin. I do know this. You do not count on him.

The first person who complains about Ireland and WRs b/c of this move will get a marshmallow pie thrown at their pecker

How does this move change anything the Dolphins are going to do in FA and draft?

It doesnt change anything in regards to draft or FA. In fact, this move will not help the organiztion at all in any way. Its just another indication of what Ireland does with his free time.

You guys do realize this is standard procedure...re-signing the practice squad guys for next year.

Well now you guys made it awkward to say acorns or something bad about Ireland. I'll just save it for the next Ireland/acorns thread.

I will say this about Tyms...some 49'er fans I know were pissed to lose him. Thats all I know. Seems like a good kid and works hard by all accounts.

the reference about Ireland finding acorns through FA or UDFA, with the hopes of taking their potential and developing them into starting caliber players.

Not bad, young WR to compete in camp.

Can't complain. This doesn't change the fact or approach that we will still go after a big time WR in FA and/or Draft.

Who said we are going after a WR in FA besides media and fans? I never heard anyone from the organization say this. This didnt happen last year so why should it happen this year??

I for one like the resign. It's going to be fun going from having the weakest core of receivers to being stacked with young talent this year after the draft and free agency.

I'm pretty optimistic about 2013 Miami Dolphins football :hump:

The kid is suppose to be fast at WR from what I heard so the need for speed is there and as far as the DT resign Kacy Rogers was pounding the table to keep the kid when we cut down earlier this year and I believe that Kacy Roger the DL coach is for real so I will trust his judgement for now

You gotta have these guys in the tiller. We got rid of Wallace and others and time to start new bunch.

you never know! I think most WR's regarldless of talent level, take a couple of years to produce big.

But a couple things intrigue me here:
    1) he didnt get any PT. Are they hiding him til next year with clean slate? Resigning him is a big statement. They like him.
    2) He has all the measurables (Ireland trait) but his speed is pretty good for a 6'3" guy.

I think preseason will be a little more fun to watch this year. just a little.
