AdamHBeasley By the Steelers losing, the Dolphins will enter Week 16 with a playoff pulse. Unreal.

I dont expect them to make it, but it is kind of cool that playoff hopes are still alive. I could see us going into the last week of the season with a chance to make the playoffs. I dont think it will happen though...

im not even thinking about playoffs bc there is basically a 0.0001 percent chance of it happening, but correct if i am wrong.

we beat buff, pitt beats cincy.

we beat pats, cleveland beats pitt and balt beats cincy, and we r in? ( and jets drop 1 of next 3)?

Jets I think would have to lose that game vs. Buffalo so they tie us in the division. If they lose one of the next 2 and beat Buffalo I think they would still have the heads up because of the better division record. But don't quote me on it lol

Woah, wait a second guys, in that other stupid post where the OP considered this win pointless we killed him for it and rightfully so. With that said, based on how we feel, we can't quit, we have to fight for that playoff spot. I agree we are looking for progression but the players also have to see there is a chance and should play their hearts out and leave it all on the field the next two weeks. I know it's a long shot, but if its a possibility, we cannot just dismiss it.

alright thanks for the clarification guys, knowing our luck, will be in it entering week 17 and get our hopes up again, and then we will miss out on the playoffs in the most excruciating way possible.

truth is im not thinking playoffs so whatever happens, happens.

next weeks scenario is actually really likely i believe, but the jets still need to drop 2 of 3, and i just do not see cleveland going into pitt week 17 and winning, and also if balt clinches next week the division, since they will be locked into the 4th seed most likely, i see them resting all there key players, especially suggs and lewis and reed, guys who are old/ been banged up.

whatever man, as i said, if it miraculously happened, great, but i am not counting on it in the least bit.

That is correct. The only way they get in is to go 9-7 and have Colts go 9-7. That is the only they get in.

    GO TITANS!!!!

For Miami to make the playoffs:
Jets have to lose 2 of last 3 games (Titans, Chargers or Bills)
    AND
    Week 16
    Miami over Bills
    Steelers over Bengals
    AND
    Week 17
    Miami over Patriots
    Browns over Steelers
    Ravens over Bengals

Here's the problem with that though.

Even if the Jets lose tomorrow. They still must either lose in Week 16 or Week 17. It has to do with them beating us in a Divisional Tie-Break (to see who qualifies for the Wildcard tiebreak). We need them to lose to Buffalo, so we are 3-3 in the division and they are 2-4 in the division.

Even if the Jets defeat Titans and Chargers-- as long as they lose to Buffalo it's enough for us (as long as CLE > PIT and BAL > CIN)

So we can get in at 8-8 and the jets can only get in at 9-7 is that correct?

No way, the Browns go into Pittsburgh, and beats the Steelers in week 17. It's not in the Browns DNA. Plus, Pitsburgh owes the Browns, for beating them, a few weeks ago.

Currently we have less than 1% chance

If we win next week our chances improve to 1%

If we win both of our games our chances improve to 4%

    http://www.playoffstatus.com/nfl/dolphinswhatif.html

Not very likely but atleast we have something besides the draft to talk about. LOL.

ill tell ya what, if we go into week 17 with our name still listed as "in the hut" i will be perfectally happy even if it means we wind up drafting 16. not to mention big ben is my starting fantasy qb, and if he has a crappy game and loses to the browns which leads to us getting in, i can handle losing the paycheck that comes with winning the league. losers whine about doing their best, winners go home and f*** the prom queen....im sure mrs tannehill was a promqueen. we didnt start the season for us not to be in the hunt. our draft picks for both the colts and bears are gonna be less than expected, im all for making our draft pick less than expected. all ya gotta do is squeek in and then who knows. as long as we are in the hunt, then who knows. doubtful.....crazy to think about....but i have a boatload of vacation to burn next year and it wouldnt hurt my feelings to burn a little of it watching a playoff game

how would that be strange exactly?

Pitt is at home, has already beaten Cincy, and despite being 7-7 which is defined as mediocre we all know Pitt is a lot more talented than there record indicates. nothing is guaranteed and obviously Cincy can go into Pitt and win, but it def wouldn't be strange in the least bit if Pitt won, as they are favored to do so.

Agreed, doubt Cincy is going to win in Pittsburgh. They have only done it once in the last 5 years. The other 4 games weren't close.

Playoff hopes died weeks ago when the Fins reverted to the hapless team they have been for the better part of a decade. I told you all Chad Henne was a loser who will only show up a game or two then act as if he has not seen a football in his life...I was right. I am telling you right now this team will show up until it matters then its back to being who we thought they were.

Next year may be different but this year they are still a farm team for the big boys in the NFL

Like one has already posted...dont set yourself up for it .

Really long shot, but not impossible. Pitt's playing terrible football tho. So is Baltimore, I think Cincy ends up winning out, and making it a moot point.

Week 17 we would need browns to beat steelers in PIT. That will never happen and that's even if we beat NE in December. Those games against arz and jets are biting us in the butt now
