While many believe it is Kevin Coyle who wants to bring Mark Duffner as LB Coach, Im told it is actually Joe Philbin who would like to bring in Duffner as his Asst. Head Coach/LB Coach. Philbin and Duffner were part of the same Green Bay Staff from 2003-2005 when both worked under Mike Sherman. Duffner, also shares a connection to Kevin Coyle, Coyle worked under Duffner from 01-02 when Duffner was the Bengals DC. Duffner also was the HC at Holy Cross from 86-91 & helped them win 60 games and went on to be the Head Coach at Maryland. Dolphins will be asking the Jags permission to interview Duffner sometime between this week or next, if they have not already asked. Philbin is expected to offer Duffer the position of Asst. HC/ LB coach.

Keep this name in mind as a potential candidate to be the Dolphins next QB coach, Tom Rossley

Nubs who? Thanks finatic, you're always in top of it in the early mornings. From the sound of it, philbin is putting together a nice staff

C'Mon Man don't do that, thanks for the compliment but Nub is awesome. Back on point yes while many though Philbin could not put together a quality staff he is doing the complete opposite and surrounding himself with really good assistants. Im about to make a thread with a little history on Jim Hostler who is rumored to have been offered the WR coach job by Miami.

Interesting. If true, makes you wonder why him? Yes, there's a connection with Philbin, but you could say the same with Sherman and he would make more logical sense as Asst HC. However, sometimes they do this in order to get around the lateral move rule where teams could block it. So I wonder if that's the case here?

that was my first reaction when reading the thread title. I'd think it's the most likely scenario.

Is that a strong rumor about Roosley or just speculation?

Their head coach at Holy Cross was Mark Duffner, who sources say is likely to join the Dolphins as an assistant head coach and linebackers coach. Duffner is currently under contract with the Jaguars as their linebackers coach.

With the coordinators in the fold, the Dolphins can now focus on the position coaches. Other than Duffner, another name to watch is Tom Rossley to serve as the quarterbacks coach. Rossley, 65, served as Sherman’s quarterbacks coach the last four years at Texas A&M.
