Dolphins | Vick looking to make team
Tue, 25 Jul 2006 20:35:23 -0700

Jarrett Bell, of the USA Today, reports Miami Dolphins QB Marcus Vick is trying to put his past troubles behind him and make the Dolphins as a rookie free-agent. Vick has been working with the wide receivers and his brother, Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick, says Marcus was the only person in high school to catch his pass, "I was firing it to him. So he can catch anything fast." Before the team released players for break before training camp, Dolphins head coach Nick Saban gave Vick a stern talking about staying out of trouble and trying to make the Dolphins without being in the newspapers.

Im not sure exactly what the point is.....

He is trying to make the team? Thats great so are about 70+ other players.....Of Course Michael is going to back him, its his brother.....

IMO he makes the practice squad this year, and challenges to make the depth chart next year

im one of the few pushing for vick to make the team, if his heads right i think he can contribute to the team

He will make this team (barring injury or any kind of trouble), we will carry six receivers, with Welker and Vick being our return specialists and Vick also used as a slash player for us in Mularkey's offense. The receivers will be . . Chambers, Booker, Hagan, Campbell, Welker and Vick. Devin will be on the PS and make the team in 2007.

im curious to see whate he cna bring to this ballclub. I know he wasn;t that much of a qb at vt but what about the possiblity of using his skills of sorta a Kordell Stewart slash type of player. One thing this team could use on offense is some trick plays and excitement that has been lacking since the Marino years.

It's too soon to really decide on anyone just yet. Let's wait and see how good these newbies are once they're getting knocked around for real in the preseason games.

i like the athleticism of vick but i hate his off field issues. i do want him to make the team and stay out of trouble. i put it this way if he makes it i will be excited but if he dosent i know saban thought he didnt have what it takes and wont be pissed but im on his side b/c of what he maybe able to bring to the table. but if not oh well.

somebody correct me if I am wrong but judging by the previous comment about devin being on the practice sqaud....didn't we sign this guy to a four year contract. I would have to assume that if we did sign him to the deal I read about, than he will be more than a dummy on the practice squad.

I would love to see vick and aromashodu returning kicks. they would either have to kick it out of the endzone everytime or something. how do you decide who to kick away from if those two are deep.

Are you serious??? vick is a player who'z never played reciever in any level..other than just going out and catching random passes for fun..so0o ur saying that a player like Devin which is wayy better than vick at returning and wayy better than vick at reciever is going to make the practice squad and not the roster??? you might wanna re-consider that
