I like that draft. I think Gaffney could be a terrific later round addition.

Preliminary, BPA (except for Tajh Boyd, thought about it in R2):

R1 WR Kelvin Benjamin FSU - Beast, must have player

R2 DT Anthony Johnson LSU - Sideline to side, strong at point of attack. Let Starks walk and save money to allocate to OL in FA.

R3 S Calvin Pryor LOU - Big, physical, athletic safety who can replace either Jones at SS or Clemons at FS. Clemons is a free agent so Pryor can be either a starter or depth.

R4 TE C.J. Fiedorowicz Iowa - We do not know what will happen with Keller. Clay is emerging as a receiving threat. CJ provides strength at point of attack and redzone target and short yardage target, and can function as a seam threat.

R5 QB Tom Savage Pitt - A prolific passer is a must draft prospect. Matt Moore's contract is out, this saves money for Oline in FA.

19 TE ERIC EBRON UNC - all the tackles I wanted were already off the board. Took the BPA that is one heck of a perfect fit in the WCO.

50 OLB KYLE VAN NOY BYU - I think Van Noy can play either OLB position, Sam or Will. He's most definitely an upgrade over Wheeler and he'd be an upgrade over Misi too. More speed, better coverage ability and he can deliver big plays.

81 OG XAVIER SU’A-FILO UCLA - My favorite Guard in this draft. I doubt he lasts till the 3rd round but he's a fit in both the ZBS and power scheme so if there is a scheme/coaching change we won't be stuck with a player that doesn't fit.

112 OT JAMES HURST UNC - Prior to his injury he was a 2nd round lock. I think he could make a good RT at the next level, not sure he has the feet for LT. Shows good balance and anchors well, gets to the 2nd level better than either of our current tackles. Has the frame to add some bulk and strength and he'll need to get stronger. More finesse than power in his game right now.

143 OG BRANDON THOMAS CLEMSON - one of the more experienced lineman entering the draft. He's played in 40 games and started 23 of them at both Guard and Tackle. Good foot quickness, explosive off the snap and plays mean. Not sure how many pancake blocks he has but it's some ridiculous number. Very good in pass pro and run blocking.

174 DT JAY BROMLEY SYRACUSE - undersized DT with very good quickness. Had 10 sacks this past season. Could be cast as a situational pass rusher taking Randy Starks' spot on those passing downs.

211 OT BILLY TURNER NORTH DAKOTA STATE - Very athletic OT for the FCS champions. Started as a true freshman and never moved from his LT spot. He's a work in progress but a guy that I think we can develop into a good tackle in time. Has the athleticism, attitude and body of a solid tackle in the making.
