It has long been heralded that NE success is due to drafting "athletes" and team players. Certainly with Saban cut from that mold we can hope for the same. I would love to see at least two of the following in south florida next year. All have size, speed and presumably versatility. In a dream world we could get all 3, but I would bet we will need to choose between Ronnie and DJ. Either way we should look hard at Earnst.

I think Dan Cody is the guy from this perspective.

Not bad players, but I doubt seriously we will get more than one of them..they are all 1st rounders...

You know I love the way Ronnie Brown plays and his versatility but I just think that Cedric Benson is better than both of the Auburn Tigers because he has actually had to carry the load all by himself. That alone will let you know that he can carry a team by himself because he's done it for four years. But the other two running backs have shared the load and have not had to throw the team an their backs.

Shazor is the 4th-5th rated S. Behind guys from
Georgia
UNLV
Oklahoma
Stanford?
Anyway he is a specimin who needs some fine tuning but could be the best of the bunch eventually and could be had in the second for sure perhaps even our early 3rd if we are lucky.

Cadillac Williams is the better football player between Ronnie Brown and him. You talk about drafting the best football players but from your picks, you're clearly in love with tangibles and not how they play the game. In reality, Derrick Johnson has questionable instincts (not unlike DJ Williams) and Ronnie Brown would forever be the backup to Cadillac Williams no matter how long the two played together at Auburn. I don't know anything about Ernest Shazor...
