He fits the offense Philbin wants to run. Green Bay style.

Still wanted a WR but I don't mind this pick with Philbin/Sherman. Fits the type of TE. Fast, athletic, good hands...6'5" 250 with a 4.5ish 40. His problem is going to be blocking which calling him mediocre is probably a reach. Caught 90 passes his Jr year with Gabbert...dropped to 50 this year although that's very good for the college game.

Egnew is much better than Green and equal to Charles plus doesn't have Charles' off field problems.

Green weighs 220. He's a slow WR. And I'm a Georgia fan and I know that Egnew is wayyy better than Charles

Tight ends down the seems. Bush and Thomas out of the back field. Gates long. Hartline and Bess running short routes. Add several low picks and free agent recievers. Maybe they don't need a number one for this offence. Like New England. Who's thier #1 ? Welker in the slot ?

Many Dolphins Fan's were asking for a seem threat at TE. Well you just got it, this kid can fly!!! Again Mayock and McShay love the pick. Egnew and Clay will definitely open up the middle of the field, Welcome to South Green Bay!!! LOL!!!

Sanu should have been the pick i think this TE would have been there in the fourth or fifth.

If miami wanted a WR that much they wouldve gotten stephen hill in the 2nd round or reuben randle, but they got great tackle so thats good. And really i would think you would be worried about the 2nd rd skip and not the 3rd rd skip on a WR. Is sanu really gonna be a great WR? isn't he slow and small? Maybe miami figures the talent grade they have for the WRS after hill and randle are around the same.

exactly what i'm thinking, i don't hate the last 2 picks but i think we could have gotten them both a round or 2 later.

Green Bay loves their TEs. Didn't they have 6 or 7 on the roster or something

I love sanu but he got all of his receptions within five to seven yards of the line of scrimmage. He is a slot receiver in a big body

Which is perfect for the WCO. Hartline and Gates as the deep guys and Sanu/Bess as the short guys with TE's working the middle.

---------- Post added at 10:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:35 PM ----------

Completely agree. Green is athletic but still really skinny, a big WR. Charles wouldn't even be on my board....short, stiff, a rocked up WR who isn't better than Clay.

I like this fit. Perfect fit for the offense. He is Fleener like, who also doesn't block well btw. And hey, Streeter is still on the board, who with some experience and good coaching could turn into a #1. Huge ceiling....and so fast.

    from NFP
Michael Egnew, tight end, Missouri (6-6, 245)
Egnew doesn’t play nearly as fast as he times out and has a tough time getting in and out of his breaks. Is more of a straight-line guy who can threaten the seam, but a guy like Orson Charles from Georgia, in my mind, would have been a better selection.
    NFL Ceiling: Mismatch guy
    NFL Floor: Sub-package reserve
