This would be an ideal signing. He has a lot of potential, and he hasn't been bad at all. I thought he was coming into his own. He had a solid season last year, just not top ten in the draft worthy. That cap number is just way too high for "hope"

There's a guy who can step right in as a starter. Big, fast, athletic, physical tight end who is only 24.

Remember the TE position is typically one of the slowest in terms of development. He's still a year or two away from his prime if he reaches his ceiling.
