Eric Studesville interviewing for Miami Dolphins staff position

The Giants have six official candidates for their head coaching vacancy as of Wednesday morning.

Eric Studesville is the wild card of the group at this point.

Studesville, who was fired Monday after a long stint as the Broncos' running backs coach, is highly respected. He has ties to the Giants organization and served as Denver's interim coach for a four-game stint at the end of the 2010 season. But compared to the other candidates, Studesville lacks the experience the team has indicated it seeks in Ben McAdoo's permanent replacement, which makes his candidacy an interesting one.

Who is Eric Studesville, and what does he bring to the table when he interviews with the Giants? Here's a closer look:

Studesville is a respected leader who players like and has proven he can produce a strong running game, which is something the Giants lack. He's had five different backs rush for 1,000 yards in a season at least once in his career - something the Giants haven't had in years. Studesville has ties to the Giants organization and has limited experience with the head coaching job. Gettleman wants his head coach to operate as a CEO, and Studesville would likely do so, delegating offensive and defensive responsibilities to his coordinators and assistants while focusing on the culture of the team.

Eric Studesville was the longest-tenured Broncos coach on staff. Served as interim HC in 2010 & was promoted to asst. HC last yr. Studesville was the one who encouraged C.J. Anderson to pick up cycling in the offseason, which helped Anderson to his first 1,000-yd season

If CJ is cut...

I love this..

Anderson, who rushed for a 1,000 yards this season, is obviously not pleased with the move to let go long time RB coach Eric Studesville.

THATS BULLSHIT

People here have been wanting coaches with experience but somehow I have the feeling that some people would complain about this hire too

Ozzy rules!!

Anderson and Drake in the backfield would be sick....but the Broncos aren’t letting him go.

I'm ok with it but would love to see interest in someone on the def side too. We list a few games via our play and need a bit of a makeover.

the Miami Dolphins have fired RB coach Danny Barrett, per a league source. The team will be talking to former Broncos RB coach Eric Studesville about a staff position --possibly RB but possibly something else -- as @alexmarvez reported.

There you go
