Fox ranks Miami worst drafting team of the past 5 years

thank god the bengals are in the league if not we would be the worst

This is why I'm always mad when people say the draft doesn't matter. Look at the list, notice how teams who are struggling are bad at drafts and the people who make it to the playoffs are teams that have good drafts. FA is mostly overrated if anything. Champions are built in the draft. I'm just glad we are being smarter as a team with our draft picks now.

2005- ronnie brown, matt roth, channing crowder, and travis daniels
2006- jason allen, and derek hagan
2007- ted ginn, john beck, samson satele, lo book, paul soliai, and brandon fields
2008- jake long

okay so by reading this... we have an elite running back, a starting ilb, depth at corner back, an elite return specialist/ sophmore starting reciever, a good sophmore center, a starting Free safety, an exciting utility player, and our punter for years to come. not to mention our 3rd reciever who gets a pass because he runs great routes.

over the last 3 years miami has produced solid drafts...

of the other 2 drafts miami picked up vernon carey, and yeremiah bell! okay what about donald lee? pope? and hadnot? plus miami has added justin smiley, and michael lehan from those drafts in particulr

add fred evans, rod wright, and devin aramoshodu to the list of solid contributors.

Ronnie Brown is not an elite RB and Ted Ginn is not yet an elite return man. Ronnie has shown flashes that he can become elite but SO FAR he hasn't lived up to his draft status(alot of that has to do w/ durability issues). Ginn averaged 22 yards a KR and 9.7 a PR- those are welker-like return #s which are very far from elite.

then why are so many people afraid of kicking to ted ginn? plus, ronnie brown was the best running back in the league last year before getting injured.. he has always enjoyed running against the jets! how many yards a game does he average against you guys anyways? it has to be close to 130

Ronnie Brown played the part of the elite back pretty well and was leading the league in yardage before he was injured.

7 starters?

I count as many as 10: Bell, Carey, Ronnie, Roth, Crowder, J.Allen, Ginn, Beck, Satele, Mauia. Could be as low as 5 I guess, but if I had to set a depth chart today, all 10 of these guys are starting. This doesn't inlcude Brandon Fields who I assume is the specialist they listed.

EDIT - make that 11, you would have to pencil in Mormino at starting guard as of today.

You don't get to count projected starters. He sucks! We have been by most measures the worst team in the league for a while now!

To be fair to the Jets' fan, he said that Ted is not YET an elite return man. I think he WILL be, but he is not yet. I love Ted Ginn, and he will be special, but "elite" is a mighty big word for him right now. I would go with solid or good right now. Now while Ronnie was having an elite year last year before he got hurt, he is not considered league wide as an elite back. And again, I will continue the trend of saying I love Ronnie, and he will be an elite back in this league, but not yet. He needs to stay healthy and produce all year.

That being said I really hate the Jets.

i believe over the last 8 years but not the last 5.. i think you could contest the panthers as well... what have they done? every year they get worse!

haha, i think all dolphin fans hate the jets! if they dont then they arent real dolphin fans.

ronnie brown showed he can be an elite back last year? he was an elite back last year.. he was dominating every single player in the league by over 100 yards. okay, he isnt an elite back... he, before getting injured, was the most elite back!

you don't? how the hell is he counting starters for the article then? Players who have started a game? Then we are even better....add R.Wright, Derek Hagan, D.Pope, etc to the list!!

it has to be projected starters....and regardless of how good/bad Mormino is (I love how you say a player who hasn't even had an oppritunity sucks) he is a projected starter, at least until tomorrow.

I dont know if Roth is considered a starter. He wont be starting on the DL in a 3-4 and wont be a starting OLB in a 4-3...

If we start off with a 4-3 then I think he could be considered a starter.

Who is afraid to kick to ted Ginn? He averages under 10 yards per PR and 22 yards on KR's. I think he will be alot better going forward but he's far from elite right now.

It's great he was one of the best backs in the league for 7 games last year but to be elite you need to be durable and so far he has not proven that. He's definitely done well against us but last I checked in games he's played against the Jets Miami is 1-4

:sidelol: Lol.. what? Pretty funny and ignorant statement considering in 06 we finished 6-10 (not the worst team) and 05 we finished 9-7 (far from the worst team) and in 04, 4-12, not the worst team...

Also, what actually makes you think Mormino sucks? Was it his play from sitting on the bench on IR where you came up with this wonderfully intelligent synopsis?
