Good luck to Mike Nolan today. I loved Mike Nolan as the DC in Miami. It was pleasure watching his different schemes. While he has work cut out for him today, if anyone can come up with a plan to stop the Niners it is him. This game will be extra special for him as he goes against his old team. I am picking both home teams today. Falcons win by seven and the Pats win huge...unfortunately.

I was not sure about Kevin Coyle replacing Nolan this year. While different, I thought Coyle was excellent. Be that as it may, Nolan was a class act while with the Fins and came up with some great plans and had some money calls.

    Should be interesting.

I think the most entertaining SB would be a Pats vs 9ers rematch so thats what I'm rooting for. The Patriots game today should be close, the Ravens never get blown out in the playoffs. Predicting Matt Ryan will fold like a cheap suit.

Liked having Nolan when he was year(though his defense was unprepared multiple times in 2011), but I really don't care if he wins or not today. In fact, I am expecting the 49ers to win this game. I predict a Harbaugh Super Bowl.

That first game I'm just going to watch and enjoy with no rooting interest. I think San Fran takes it but I don't care either way. Should be a solid match.

Mike Nolan was/is a overrated DC

He can't come up with a scheme to stop a TE.

I expect both to lose, but I'm rooting for both to win. I'm tired of New England in the Super Bowl (although another SB loss would be fun to watch), and if Atlanta wins the Ryan fluffers will dominate the board for at least the next two weeks - telling us all what a great QB Ryan is.

san fran should definitely go after atl with vernon davis but i don't know that reading the field is a major strength of kaeps...if i'm san fran i read option and run pa off of it and the pistol and downhill run right at atlantas finesse front...should be able to get vernon down the seam also for some easy read throws but the atl safeties are underrated...so kaep better not be late

line up and knock that atl front off the ball...if this games gonna be won at the los i don't see how atl can handle the physicality of san fran...

i also hope the officials let the players play....i don't want to see any soft crap calls on the boundary deciding this game...let the atl wrs and san fran dbs play...may the best man win

atls de's are gonna have to play very sound assignment football or kaep will be out the gate on the read option off of soft edges...

i like san fran today personally...and in the other game i think that ones a real crap shoot...wouldn't surprise me if balt finally gets over the schnide today...they give brady fits

of course that would be betting on both road teams to win in the conference champ games...seems kinda unlikely...but i expect some dynamite games today

Cant blame Wilson for that. He flat out balled on the atl defense and his own defense let him down.

I agree Wilson was excellent, but Atlanta found a way...squib kick in all.

I am interested to see how Kapaernick plays in the dome. He has not been that hot on the road. I got Atlanta and the Pats. I want anyone, but NE to win it all....

I'm rooting for Mike Nolan. He was great for Miami and I was proud to call him our DC.

While Coyle's defense has done a good job at not allowing many points (their main job), they have been historically bad at creating turnovers. The 2012 Miami Dolphins forced fewer takeaways than any other team in Miami Dolphins history. Yeah, it was that bad. Coyle did well with what he had, but the lack of takeaways definitely hurt our offense. We almost never gave Tannehill the ball in a scoring situation ... and with our WR's and run blocking we couldn't drive 80 yards every time. Coyle needs to create turnovers. The Dolphins will continue to fail at the single most important statistic, Turnover Differential, unless Coyle's defense can dramatically improve on the takeaways. I don't mean this as an indictment against Coyle, but it's clear that Nolan succeeded at creating turnovers with the same players that Coyle was historically bad at creating. Its tough to follow a great DC like Mike Nolan.

I'm rooting for Mike Nolan to win it all.

Nolan's schemes and playcalling were decent (except for covering TEs) until the 4th quarter. He always seemed to go into some type of prevent defense and allow opponents to come from behind and win. I'm glad that he's gone.

Almost everybody is acting like the 9ers are some kind of lock to win today based off last week. All the Falcons did was beat the hottest team in the league. It seems like 90% of the talking heads on TV are taking the 9ers. They are even a pretty decent road favorite. Watch Matty Ice show everybody whats up today.

Mike Nolan's signature moment with Miami was when Brady put up 517 passing yards on Miami on MNF. His defense was gassed and cramping up. Good times.

Atlanta is on fire. Wish our gm would have gotten Matt Ryan. And had the balls to make a move for a big time receiver like Julio.

What's funny was I was fine with the Ryan-Sam Baker combo. That is all that was discussed back then. Long-Henne and Ryan-Baker.

I would be lying to you if I thought Matt Ryan would end up as solid as he has been though.

Too perfect that Baker got destroyed and let pressure in but Ryan delivers a bullet for a first down anyway.

Harbaugh threw some new wrinkles at Nolan's defense in that last drive. I wonder if he'll be able to adjust? This was one of his weaknesses in Miami.

BTW, it sure thrills my heart to see how bad Matt Ryan is playing. If he played any worse they would only be leading this game by seven. Parcels and Ireland sure were right to build behind an elite left tackle. :)

The inability of the Falcons not being able to defend the TE is alarming...and a real criticism of Nolan's time in Miami.

---------- Post added at 04:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:19 PM ----------

Right on cue...a TD to Davis.

The improvement of Miami defending the TE was apparent under Coyle.

This is what I mean by an inability to adjust. San Francisco will keep throwing there until Atlanta stops it.

Agreed, Harbaugh is an excellent leader of men.

Can you get over how much fun this game is to watch. The offense of both teams are now clicking on all cylinders. What I wouldn't give to see the Dolphins with a dynamic offense like either of these teams.!
