Hoops scoops...jets fins

You guys are deflecting in every thread by bringing up Matty Ice all of the time. This is the first time Ive bothered responding.

Its ridiculous to bring up an established winner at QB. If we had Matty Ice we wouldve won the division this year and had a shot at homefield throughout the playoffs.

You want to talk about a guy carrying his whole team..... Matt Ryan has close to the worst defense in the league. Tannehill has damn near the best.
You guys talk about OL.... fact is our OL is decent. The sack totals are due to Tannehill being garbage. We should be around the league average in sacks. Atlanta on the other hand has damn near the worst OL in the league.
All of that combined with the sickening amount of injuries that team had on offense and defense and its no wonder Matty Ice will see his first losing season. Tannehill is staring at his 2nd in as many years. Matty Ice lost his best WR, his other good WR missed several games and played injured all year, his starting RB is just starting to play as well. Look for Matty Ice to bounce back next season with a monster season.

Oh yeah, just look at all those playoff wins, championships, and Super Bowl banners Matt Ryan has put up in Altanta......oh wait......

Sounds like what Tannehill had to contend with last season..except he turned a natural #2 or #3 WR into a 1000 yard producer. Henne seems to be doing as well as, if not better than Melty this year with maybe even less to work with. Go figure :idk:

But I digress. I'll admit when I saw the score was tied at 24 in the 3rd quarter my first reaction was "well this is where Melty disappears, especially in cold weather." But then I remembered that the 2nd half choke gene doesn't kick in until it actually means winning or going home in the playoffs, that he's playing a meaningless game in the scheme of things and that he's not facing playoff-calibre teams. :idk:

You don't get offensively shut out in a whole postseason game, get shut out in the second half of a playoff game (2 if you count the ACC championship) or score 24 whole points in 5 2nd halfs (6 if you want to count the ACC championship) going 1-4 (or 1 in 5 if you want to count the ACC game) by accident, coincidence or as an anomaly. And you don't ignore that reality unless you're busy fluffing Melty's nether regions.

IMO it's perfectly valid to continue to bring it up, pointing out your refusal to acknowledge that he sucks when it counts most as a commentary on your "objectivity" when it comes to Tannehill. If you can't see one reality, I question you're seeing one that's really another .

WV keeps failing. That's keeping it real.

I don't know what's worse....geno smith or dee milliner...I do know that they are both disasters...nice picks jets

Having said that Ryan tannehill played his worst half of the season...he left plays on the field a plenty...

got hit on a ball that would have been better placed on a vertical had he been able to follow thru to marlon Moore who blew by milliner like he was flat footed on the play where the way milliner let him just go by It made me wonder if he expected deep help and didn't get it...ok the hit probably made that ball go out of bounds...

but threw a ball in the tight red on 4th down no less that he has to put where clay can at least make a play balls out of bounds unacceptable...clays open it's a difficult throw to place but dammit it has to be in bounds

missed hartline on a win at the Los where hartline gives him the hand over the top if balls out in front it's an easy td milliner got used at the Los on the play instead tanny on 4th and 1 throws it back shoulder into the beat defender...poor post snap read and placement on a win from the jump by hartline...

took a sack where he had plenty of time to go thru progressions double clutched twice and ran right into it got to throw the ball away there...that's on the qb

bill cowher said he was too mechanical off his first half look and I totally agree tannehill was robotic with everything he did...did not like the half from our qb...moved the ball down the field with ease off presnap reads but left plays a high end qb makes on the field...

in the 2nd half he was better but was a benefactor of sone poor tackling by the jets...milliners awful but cromartie was obvious was ailing all game long it was pitch and catch in front of him...poor tackle on a slant to hartline for a 31 yard td where oh so washed up Ed reed was the safety help...Ed reed should have hung em up after Houston cut him...he was a disaster there and he was awful today with the jets...the guys done...

mike Wallace effort on the cro pick was a wtf moment...pretty much none to impede the ball from coming down to cro...that said the wrs used up this beat up and poor playing wear a target cb unit of the jets all game long...

ahh more 3rd and less than 1 ball back to the rb for failed conversions by the oc today...made an adjustment to more shotgun on those downs in the 2nd half or 4th downs but this teams laughed at when it goes to a rb on goalline and short yardage...

Lamar miller with some run thru contact on the inside but got blasted by pouncey in the first half for running out of bounds short of the sticks instead of taking it up field for the conversion...good to see pouncey chew his ass out for taking the easy way out...rest of game he went more north and south on the sideline...

I thought overall the interior oline did a pretty good job with sone straight wreckers in Wilkerson and Richardson...they had their moments but they didn't beat us either...that interior jets dline is legit folks...

nice job to run the ball more against an offense that could do nothing even if we didn't run for real yardage...we kept the jets defense honest and limited their blitz opportunities...

the d did exactly what a good unit is suppose to do...shut down that bs qb and offense...hell even our lb play did not get exposed cause the gameplan was so simple...fill your gaps be where you should be vs easy read run looks and be ready for the screen game on 3rd and long...

dannell ellerbe I think that was the best game In coverage I have seen from him all year...was around the ball a lot...wheeler even was solid today vs that bs offense and misi has gotten better in coverage In the flats this year...won't be as easy for this unit next week though...totally different level qb and I suspect we will see some extra OT fronts to assist the run game...

Olivier Vernon the star of the game up front shifted inside in obvious pass sets and was way too quick for the interior oline players of the jets...did a nice job maintaining run responsibilities and gap control and then disengaging from the lt in the first quarter for his pa sack also...

Nolan Carroll got hurt I thought he had gotten his hand crushed on a tackle where the help came late and dove into his hand luckily he came back cause despite Matt Simms and his only making one read on every play will davis was wearing a target...only points jets got was on a play where Davis in off coverage got turned around on a long to the sticks conversion vs a possession wr....

caleb sturgis...you suck...not done costing this team...I can see that

Finally u guys need to get off Joe philbin...thus team has not folded after the pansy Jon Martin cried wolf and made a big to do about nothing...even though the media wanted it to happen...I applaud this hc for his teams game prep and effort...that is what a hc is responsible for...this team doesn't lose because of effort or being ready to play it loses cause of personnel deficiencies...it's your gm with his poor drafts and poor free agent spending every year it seems who deserves to walk the plank...

at Pitt next week gonna be quite the test...the qb will have to be better no doubt about it...but it sure is nice to face em likely down to their 4th string tackles...cam wake I'm talking to you dion Jordan and Olivier Vernon...

Nice recap Hoops... This was your first recap sans Thill excuse making.

An elite QB (which is exactly what you pimp "Matty Ice" in being) would never finish with 3 total wins (lol) through 75% of the season. Brady had a MUCH worse off season then Matt Ryan, and he leads his division yet again. Ryan has the same caliber supporting cast as Tannehill did last season on offense. I'll give you an "attaboy" sticker if Matty finishes 2013 with 7 wins as Tannehill did his rookie season in an eerily similar situation.

I knew you would jump in the second I responded to the Matt Ice trolling attempts. You have been waiting patiently and trying REAL HARD.

However, I did not read your response that I quoted here.

Matt Ryan is a god damned beast at QB. And christ knows we could use some guys with character like Matty Ice. Again, with Matt Ryan at QB, this is a 11-14 win team this season.

Nice recap Hoops... This was your first recap sans Thill excuse making.

Thats what I noticed as well. Odd considering how hard the rest of the Tannehill fluffers are today after a nice stats day.

agree with wv , with good qb play we beat buffalo-tb-carolina and the cheats. by saying that im pinning too much of the blame on him but he left numerous big plays on the field in those games and his mistakes were the difference. hopefully he starts running more and improving his deep throws. this has been a very frustrating season in that there is no way in hell we should be 6-6!

Why would Tannehill need any excuses when we won 23-3?

Because as Hoops pointed out, he really didnt play well today. He played horribly in the first half and decent in the 2nd half. Not good.

Damn straight bro.

A really good defense and some studs at WR..... we should have at least 9 wins right now. You cant win them all and even the best QBs will miss plays or make mistakes, but better QB play on a more consistent basis and we beat a couple of those bad teams we shouldve beaten.

Lemme dumb it down: 1-4 when it's win or go home, a couple of game and 2nd half goose eggs vs playoff worthy teams. Yeah its an accomplishment to make it there even if you expect to end up with blue balls again and are as loaded as the falcons have been, but realistically you stand as good a chance of sniffing the SB with Sanchez, Grossman or Dilfer if not better. You can continue to insist he's a winner although he requires the Heimlich Maneuver when it matters most..but if you do, don't expect to receive much credibility when you go on your Tannehill diatribes as a result. And that's just Being Real!

So wv, Matt Ryan is now a fg kicker and running back?

Who's making excuses now?
