How far under the cap are we?

Well in the Sun-Sentinel it says that the Fins have 19 million for Free Agency according to Omar Kelly.

According to a source, Carey will be on the books for $5.25 million this season. That means the Dolphins have roughly $19 million to work with in free agency to possibly re-sign guys like Yeremiah Bell, Andre' Goodman, and lure others this weekend.

When was the last time Omar Kelly was a reliable source?

I don't trust the guy in things that aren't proven... for the most part.

last i heard it was about 39.5 mil i think. plenty of money

I've heard anywhere between $25 million and $40 million, but that was before the Carey signing. I can't imagine how we could possibly have $39.5 million dollars left to spend on FAs and rookies after that big contract.

PFT had our cap number at $101 million as of Feb 11th with the cap for 2009 being $124 million. I'm guessing, after the Carey signing, we probably only have $19-20 million left.

$19 million should still be enough for Jason Brown, Leigh Bodden, and a few other FA players for depth plus our rookies. It is so nice NOT to have a top 10 pick and to have to pay those outlandish contract numbers.

Plus, Omar Kelly is pretty cool for a media guy, IMHO.

Remember though, we need to still be able to sign our draft picks.

I guess no one decided to read the top post in this forum before posting random numbers in this thread.

I'll give you guys a link (its the thread right under this one, shhhh!)

Omar's number of 19 million is pretty close to my number of 23 million. Depending on what he estimated the cap to be and depending on if he estimated any cap credits or debits from LTBE or NLTBE incentives from last year, we might have the same exact numbers.

ok, so really nobody knows, got it!

Are my posts now showing up?

Theres even a link to my cap page which I have everyones contract on in my signature and in the other thread I created. No one knows the EXACT amount under the cap we are because the actual salary cap or the Miami Dolphins adjusted salary cap hasnt been published yet. Estimating what the cap probably will be, we are between 19-23 million under the salary cap depending on cap credits or debits from LTBE or NLTBE incentives and what the actual salary cap will be for 2009.
