The B1G has now added Maryland & Rutgers. This puts the B1G at 14 teams and as always, "rumors" are they are looking to add more. What this does is forces the B1G to add more conference games to balance out the schedule. Each team will now have to add at least one conference game to their schedule to create this balance.

What this does is put Notre Dame out in the cold. Notre Dame is already an ACC member within all sports except football. This will essentially force Notre Dame to pledge their football allegiance to a conference. The ACC will not allow Notre Dame to leave without paying the FULL $50M exit fee. Notre Dame isn't Maryland. Notre Dame is the biggest brand in all of college football and the ACC would thrive with Notre Dame's commitment. My guess is that within five years, Notre Dame will see the benefits of joining a conference outright.

agreed. their ego is too big to join a conf plus if they go undefeated they will have a chance to play for title NO MATTER WHAT so why join a conf?

And because Maryland is slowly becoming a dominant recruiting force in the DMV area?
