If the Pats start well...

Brady is just another high level QB on any other team, and even that's debatable b/c of the knowledge and coaching accrued from Bill Belichick.

Coaching is the only position to be judged by wins and losses.

Brady's legacy won't be tarnished so to speak but he is by no means the football god proclaimed by others. That title belongs to his HC.

Google the book in my avatar. Excellent read and lots of info on 'mystery man Adams'.

I will look it up. There's a reason the Pats keep winning with the likes of Matt Cassel, Jimmy G, and whoever the *** the new guy is.

Ernie Adams is counting cards. He's a Savant, the RainMan of the NFL.

On a side note, the private firm - Exponent - that did the testing of the deflategate findings have lifted a self-imposed silence to publically say they're eager to say
they were right, no matter what Patriots fans believe.

Does that diminish Brady's legacy?

No, all the cheating to win championships already did that. ( Wes Welker just happens to be having dinner W/ Brady before the Dolphins games? Forever a shady team.)

This just proves, as long as you can throw the ball somewhat well, in this system, you can look like a star.

Why not both? The teams performance during these first few games certainly reflect on the coaching staff and front office, and their ability to build a complete team that can survive some bumps in the road. When their rookie 3rd round QB comes in, they implemented a completely different offense that we've never seen the Patriots run before. Naked bootlegs? Designed QB runs? Option runs? None of us has EVER seen a full gameplan of that from the Patriots in the last 17 years. Yet they did this on a short week of preparation. This suggests to me they were already planning ahead during the offseason and had these things drawn up just in case Brissett needed to come in. This forethought and preparedness is a hallmark of what makes BB a great coach.

However;

Tom Brady has helmed record breaking offenses. When he has had top flight (and healthy) receivers to work with, he put up ridiculous numbers with relative ease. When he didn't have those weapons, he still reliably put up very very good numbers (though not record breaking). This is an organization that does not value spending big money on star RBs or star receivers (getting a long term deal for Gronkowski being the only recent exception to that). If you switched Tom and Peyton between 2003 and 2007, I think both teams would have had similar results. The Pats defense would have carried Manning to more rings, while Tom would have put up crazy numbers throwing to Harrison and Wayne and Clark. That isn't a knock on either player. Benefiting from the team around you doesn't mean you yourself are not also very good.
