Miami #3 WR in catches is Moore with 4 catches only?

IS THIS possible? has this EVER happened in NFL history? only 2 WR with over 5 catches for the ENTIRE year?

Anyways, Looking at some stats to put into the player analysis' I have I would say the following should happen this offseason.

1) Jones is a pro bowl looking SS
2) Clemons shoudl be a goner if not a back up. Definitely need a ball hawk, maybe like Goldson.
3) Smith - Goner
4) R. Marshall cut
5) Dansby - kept or cut depending on cap situation with his contract
6) Burnett - Cut
7) Misi kept
8) Starks would love to keep for about 20 Mill
9) Soliai staying put
10) Odrick rotate with Starks at DT
11) Odrick replaced at DE with a true pass rusher via Avril FA
12) Wake no need to speak on him

I would draft or try to draft Te'o which is why i want us to lose out. We need another ZT back in Miami. Te'o, Misi, and Dansby to me sounds good.

If I could I would want Te'o in, Goldson in, Grimes in, and Avril. That would shore up this Defense pretty darn well.

Knowing Fireland, this won't happen. Look at this FA history...

I got the following from finnation.com

Earnest Wilford: 2008 free agent signed a four-year, $13 million contract with $6 million guaranteed. Played one season. 2008 base salary was $1m – so Miami paid him $7 mil for 3 catches and 25 yards.

C Jake Grove: 2009 free agent five-year, $29 million with $14.5 million guaranteed. 2010 base salary of $2 mil so Miami paid him $16.5 mil for one season of work. Nice.

S Gibril Wilson: 2009 free agent signed a $29 mil, $8m guaranteed contract. Couldn’t cover TEs or RBs and only survived one season. Base salary was $950k, so Miami paid him $8.95m.

G Justin Smiley: 2008 free agent signed a signed five-year, $25 million contract with $9 million guaranteed. Annual base salary was $3.2m every year. He played 2 years in Miami, pocketing an average of $7.7 mil.

Vernon Carey: re-signing him in 2009, $12 mil signing bonus plus $2 mil roster bonus, salaries of $800k (2009), $950k (2010), $4.15m (2011) which was renegotiated to a one year deal of $2.5m. So for 2008 – 2009 Miami paid Carey an average of almost $8 mil/season.

To add to that list from my own,

1) NaNaee
2) Marshall DB
3) Hicks

Do I have faith in his FA for this year? yes, I do.

I have 100% faith in him completely ruining the hell out of this team more than he has already.

But again, if I could do it thats how I would approach this offseason.

This is defense btw, not offense. that we will get to later on.

How is that a dumbs down post

i mean even during his secondary signings he went for players that are big and strong but lack speed or playmaking. Its unreal how his belief in big and strong is a key to success. ITS LITERALLY UNREAL. Its like if he were a baskebtal GM he would think you dont need shooters/scorers to win, just ugys to rebound a ball or hustle for missed shot.

Thats literally his approach in the NFL.

I mean Wilson adn Marshall are clones, pathetic players, strong and big but pathetic.

look at the $ splshed on big buff guys on hte O Line than the $ splashed on WR.

HE has spent over 150 mill in linemen but probably nothing more than marshall at WR in 5 years.

Wasn't there also a CB named Green that was an FA also that only played about 2 games before he was cut?

Oh man I forgot ALL about him. Yeah there was. Oh man I can't believe that signing still.

So we are cutting/not resigning Sean Smith, Chris Clemmons, Richard Marshall, Karlos Dansby and Kevin Burnett . . . . and bringing in Te'o, Grimes coming off of a season ending injury and hard hitting, meh coverage FS in Goldson to replace these guys.

Need a Family Guy cutaway for this ****.

WHOOOOO has he signed that is STILL on this roster that has been here and contributed?

1) Starks
2) Bush
3) Dansby

Every OTHER signing needs major replacement.

I mean his lost goes on,
Grove, Green, Carey, Incognito, now Long, i mean for crying out loud tell me you are doing even D work while you make your 5 mill ayear man. The guy has failed in EVERy aspect of his job and makes money that I think a rapper deserves more than him.

No, I said keep Dansby if it isn't affecting our Cap. Goldson is a complete playmaker something we lack. His coverage far exceeds what Clemons does and unlike Clemons, he isn't scared to tackle which is part of his damn job.

Te'o alone produces more than all those players on that list.

Grimes anyday of hte week over Smith. ****, Grimes injured is better than Smith healthy.

But you are up for cutting a player with 100+ tackles and 75% of our base secondary. We have to keep some players. And then add to those. But if you cut/don't resign Clemons/Smith you have to keep 1 of them. Neither of them are killing us/helping us, but you have to deal with the fact that not all of your players are going to be that great. We have a good line good LB core. Need a shut down CB and then we will be legit on D. Keep Clemons and Smith, Keep your LB and Line together and get a shut down CB. This is a more logical way to upgrade the D and leaves options to address the Oline, TE, and WR core.

Blowing up the D is not going to do anything but suck up resources for the O.

Thats what happens when u ignore wr . We have two wrs worthy of an nfl roster spot

Basically same thing at corner thats why we rank 25th versus the pass

you don't cut half or more of a top 10 d when the obvious problems are on the O.

Because your offseason plan seems to be dismantling the Defense when the biggest issue on this team is a WR threat. We can do a few things, but cutting Dansby, Burnett, Clemons, Marshall, not resigning Smith is a little extreme. If we can upgrade with a pass rush specialist to spell Odrick in pass situations, and either get a big time player to replace 1 of the 3 in Smith, Marshall, or Clemons we have done enough on that side of the ball. And look at a few spots in the draft for future replacement of Dansby or Burnett. Then the rest needs to focus on getting more zone blocking lineman, a legit WR or two.

I didn't give a thumbs down, but I think you got Misi and Burnett backwards. Misi is absolutely horrible and needs to be GONE. KB is pretty solid IMO. I would keep him and send Koa packing. Clemons I would like to keep cheap and bring in a ball hawk like you say. And I think we signed Marshall for a multi year deal. I would like to see him next year, he was really good in zona and carolina. I would like to see more of him before we got rid of him. But I agree with most.
