Any one else picked and Id be disappointed:
Ted Ginn Jr
sounds good. i like it
Good group of five...I wouldn't be disappointed with others though: Leon Hall, Chris Houston, Amobi Okoye, Adam Karriker, etc.
We not going to waste a first round pick on willis
You have to include Leon Hall. Our secondary hasn't been the same since Surtain left
Hall sucks. He got torched by a 4.6 Jarett for 200+ yards and 2 touchdowns in a bowl game (you know spotlight)
C Johnson would be on the list but there aren't any likely scenarios for us to get him.
Only way a first round pick on Willis is wasted is if he's a bust. Not likely.
Don't judge a guy on one game...but that is disturbing
i am now starting to want john beck, QB BYU.
i felt that way a few weeks ago...thinking that LB really isnt an immediate need position but when i look at this draft there are really only 2 players that i think are sure superstars...locks....and they are calvin johnson and patrick willis....the qb's are never locks....joe thomas is really good but he could be the next robert gallery...and all the dline guys each have something i dont like...plus i would hate the bills to get him.....
and for the record the guy i want right now ofcourse is quinn....i think he is the real deal.....all the other guys i wouldnt mind trading down to get....if willis is available at 9 and we trade down with another team to get ginn or brown...id be happy...landry is almost sure fire stud too....
My top 5:
(or trade down)
Revis @ 9?? Capers can deprogram whatever Wanny taught him.
No Joe Staley huh? You may be disapointed
Those are good, but I would be happy with several others at the #9 spot. I would be somewhat disappointed in Ginn at #9- if we do that trade down (if possible) and pick him up around 13 to 17.
I would also be happy with Carriker over Brown or Ginn Jr.
Carriker or Staley could end up being our 1st rd pick. Specially if we trade down!
I can't see us taking Patrick Willis, not with the 9. Zach Thomas is still good for another 2 seasons at least, and it isn't our most pressing need, especially when so many good players are still available. Any of these players would be excellent 1st rounders for us:
Quinn, Levi Brown, Landry, Okoye, Ginn Jr
And, i think that's also the order we would draft them in. in other words, if all these players were available, that's the order we would take 'em in.
Hmm..I've narrowed my list to 1....Brady Quinn
Anybody else and I'd be disappointed.
I know that the team would probably have reservations on picking Willis at 9, and that's OK with me, but how can you say for sure that Zach would be there in a couple of years?? One just can't. That's proposterous! If Miami were in a better position (meaning, not having so many other needs), Willis is probably the best player at 9.
It is unfortunate, because I really believe Willis will be an impact player at the next level. A guy like Willis would greatly benefit from learning from Thomas, Porter, and Crowder. He would be a great fit! He is so athletic that he can play outside then move inside if needed. Awesome blitzer. Super measurables.
He is one of the "can't miss" guys in this draft.
That mother****** is violent. I know lb is not one of our biggest needs, but, damn.
:yeahthat:, No but seriously, while Hall may end up doing well in the NFL, I really don't see him as a top ten pick in this draft, CB is a deep position in this draft and we could possibly get someone just as good at 40.
I like BPA and Willis could definately be BPA when the phins pick at 9
I think it really comes down to two picks:
2. Ginn Jr
I agree, Hall isn't anything special. I much prefer Darrell Revis from Pittsburgh as a first rounder or Daymione Hughes from Cal / Josh Wilson from Maryland in round two.
If we are looking to go corner I also like Eric Wright from the University of Nevada, although his character issues are fairly serious.
