Buffalo Bills safety Jairus Byrd is one of the top players scheduled to hit the free agent market in free agency. He is arguably the second best safety in the NFL, behind Seattle Seahawks' Earl Thomas. On the open market, Byrd will likely draw significant interest.

The Bills have discussed a contract extension with Byrd, but are unlikely to agree to one before free agency and are unlikely to use the franchise tag on him, according to Joe Buscalgia of WGR550.com. He says that it is unlikely that Byrd will re-sign with the Bills.

He turned down a reported contract that would have given him 30M over 3 years.

Some say it is Guaranteed money that is the sticking point there is still some optimism because Bills have been reported to keep negotiating so no final offer yet but not sure how much higher they go for a center field FS with foot problems.

if he hits the market there is a good chance he ends up a Jet

I hope so...jets will blow a big chunk of there cap on him.
