Jarvis Landry's agent puts deadline on extension talks

Hopefully, he signs for something around $12 million a yr. Not counting on it tho.

Based on the list below of top 10 WRs based upon 2017 earnings, I would probably put Jarvis in the 5 to 7 range, which probably ends up something like 13.5 million.

1. Steelers WR Antonio Brown: $17 million
2. Bengals WR A.J. Green: $15 million
3. Falcons WR Julio Jones: $14.3 million
4. Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas: $14 million
5. Cowboys WR Dez Bryant: $14 million
6. Colts WR TY Hilton: $13 million
7. Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin: $11.5 million
8. Chargers WR Keenan Allen: $11.3 million
9. Buccaneers WR Desean Jackson: $11.2 million
10. Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald: $11 million

I think they want to see what we have in our O-line before dropping the moneysack on Landry. We may need to make some trades to keep Tannehill upright if our incoming crop doesn't bear fruit. They don't want to lose leverage with cap space without seeing what we have.

Damarius Bilbo is one of the coolest names I've ever heard. Sounds like it belongs at the end of a rap lyric.

...or a dj for black Lord of the Ring fans.

No one should ever be allowed to use the word fungible ANYMORE!

I think the Dolphins are playing this right. I would say there will be an offer on the table of between $12-13 mil with high guaranteed amount by thre regular season.....good chance it is there already....but Jarvis wants more!

If Landry doesnt accept that....I wouldn't go any higher....not till next year anyway.

That way we have a year to asses DVP and Caroo and possibly Drew Morgan in the slot....to work out how badly we need to keep Landry...and if we should pay him the 14 or 15 mil. he wants.

Landry will have to accept that if he doesnt sign this year that he will lose some snaps to Caroo and possiby Drew Morgan...so we can assess them....probably mainly in garbage time!

One contract to rule them all...and in the guaranteed money bind them.

A deal for him today will be cheaper than a deal for him next year.

Landry has his agent expressing a tremendous attitude. Let's not burn this bridge. Extend him before camp begins

That's not necessarily true. We are banking on Parker...just resigned Stills....added in Julius Thomas....all of these guys are going to be expected to get more looks than last season. No one on this board, and I'm sure in that Dolphins exec room want Landry getting 110+ receptions at small numbers per clip.

If we run a more balanced offense through the air, the Dolphins will have a ton more justification to tick his contract back a few notches, at which point Landry will have to be convinced the Dolphins are a team headed to a Superbowl and worth taking a slight discount for.

I think Dolphins are handling this perfectly and admire Landry's focus on the football once the season starts.

I believe it will get done during training camp. Reading between the lines based on comments from the coaches, it sounds like they had a talk with him about doing a few things better. They wanted to see it in OTA's as well as camp & PS. They want him to refine his technique so it results in more scoring opportunities. It's all about TD's.

This might seem like a small thing to the uninitiated. But it wasn’t. The Dolphins have been telling Landry that they need to see him “Zero In” on the small details that kept the Dolphins offense from truly clicking last year.

“He got himself open and made some tough catches. He was doing all the little tiny details that would make him to where if he was just a little bit open, he really did a good job of getting himself wide open. When he’s rolling like he was today, you just keep trying to find ways to get him the ball.”

Looking at this list, 12 million seems like a good number - bit more than Doug Baldwin, just below the true #1 type guys. Thanks for the list by the way.

I'm in the more they'll have to pay the longer they wait boat. There's basically a whole calendar year for bigger contracts to set the perameters after the Stills payday already made it interesting enough (I admittedly am too lazy to check and see which receivers are in line for big deals in the next year-ish ... could be more specific here).

Just pay him before/during camp. He lights a fire in the entire team mid game when were flat. Even defensive players feed off it. Money cant buy that stuff. Get it done.
