not as a starter but for wr depth?
We already have depth. We need starters.
we dont need a 7th #3 WR
Actually, we really don't have depth. It wouldn't be a bad move if he came cheap enough.
Absolutely not. We already have Davone Bess. We don't need another slot receiver, who is a liability on the boundary.
I would sign Edelman if the price was a bargain.
he is nothing special. the only reason any of us know his name is because he was a patriot and ESPN anointed him as the next Welker
Nope, no depth needed and thats what i dont understand from people they expect us to sign Mike Wallace, and some to resign Hartline or sign Jennings too and then on top of all that to draft another receiver. How many receiver slots do y'all think we have!?
We are probably going to re-sign one over achieving white guy.
I think thats enough.
We have enough 4s, 5s, and 6s. I heard Ireland say so himself.
i think we have a better option under contract in rishard matthews
Julian Edelman > Davone Bess. Edelman scored more on thanksgiving then Bess did ALL SEASON. I would cut Bess for Edelman if we were to sign him.
He's a spunky wr..but brady makes any wr make plays ..he would make our guys look good even marlon moore.
The TRUTH! We have a whole stable of WRs that would be 3s at best on good teams -- and not even crack the roster of any of the SB teams this year. And yes, by that I mean Hartline too. He's a number 3 at best on a great team.
So what? Wes Welker only had 1 touchdown in 2 seasons with Miami, I'm sure you were one of the people who were ok with the trade. Smh the logic in this forum is really starting to get ridiculous.
true true… but unlike Bess, Edleman knows how to get above the 1st down stick consistently
What? Bess gets a lot of 1st downs... He's still a #3 though. As is Edelman.
he's a decent ST player though.
sure... as a DB
I like him, he plays with a edge. He's a heck of a return man. He has speed, he has attitude, and he's a winner.
yes and his qb were also a trio of Culpepper, Joey Harrington, and the never forgettable Cleo Lemon..... my logic is bess is an descending, high paid player who can't seperate from a db to save his life. Edelman is an ascending player who would be cheaper, and actually has speed. He can also play all 4 special teams, is a damn good returner, can play nickelback and serve as an emergency qb.... has WAY more VAULE.... VALUE is my lodgic my friend
yes and you risk the tinkering of chemistry, also Bess is probably the 2nd best slot receiver in the NFL and you want to get rid of him? He's a hard worker, a team player, and a GOOD player. Also the cap penalty we'd incur if we release Bess for Edelman who btw is unproven and didn't put up even average numbers with Tom Brady who makes everyone look good. Ryan Tannehill only threw what 14 touchdowns (same if not worse than the QBs totaled in 06 and 07), and its not the receivers fault or a lack of ability to score. Now I'm not saying its entirely Tannehill's fault but he warrants much of the blame along with Sherman but its ok because he's a rookie, next season it'll probably be corrected. The lack of TD's argument is starting to get old, y'all just look at the numbers and thats it, you all fail to realize the factors behind them. and its spelled LOGIC btw.
Cool bro, way to find that typo! 2nd best? hahahahahha I guess you have never heard of Victor Cruz, Randall Cobb or Percy Harvin
Go back to playing Madden......
Edelman isn't anything special. Bess would have TDs too if he played with Brady.
no I think you should, it is comical you mention Bess as the 2nd best slot receiver. When Harvin, Cobb, Cruz take majority of their snaps in the slot...
They arent really considered slot receivers. They are the #1 go to guys, Davone Bess is a true slot receiver who's one of the best on third down. Get out of here, your proposal is never happening as it shouldnt because its foolish and you cant even make a good case for it.
Edelman is a product of the system in NE. Doubtful, he could even make the opening day roster after FA and he draft are completed.
yeah the case is that he has way more value and is twice the athlete.... I will burn Davone Bess in a race right now..... Edelman can play slot, all special teams, is a good returner and would be the best cornerback on our current roster, he played nickel all of the 2011 playoffs... and is a more than capable emergency quarterback.
Good luck with that.
Now lets be fair. Hartline's a pretty good #4 receiver and don't be surprised if Ireland communicates this in the contract negotiations.
no in all seriousness being a team devoid of playmakers, we need all the help we can get. Meaning Greg a #2 (hopefully a rookie instead of Hartline) Bess and another receiver... bringing in Edelman to battle Armon Binns and Matthews for the last 2 spots, odd man out.... Edelman just brings so much value

yes... that 4.7 40 might get me...... I run 4.58-4.62 electric at 235
Sure you do, maybe you should on walk on for the Dolphins and add some value to the team!
