Julius Pruitt Squats Over 600 lbs./Categorizing WR's

Julius Pruitt is pretty much like Kory Sheets with the only exception being that Pruitt doesn't spend the majority of his time on Twitter chatting up with B team strippers and amateur porn stars.

With all due respect, the Kory Sheets comparisons are absurd.

Sheets was a bad character RB from Purdue who suffered a severely torn achilles when with the Dolphins. He spent time with the 49ers and Panthers and currently plays for Saskatchewan in the CFL.

Pruitt is a high character RB from a tiny school with good durability.

They really have almost nothing in common. They both went undrafted and they are both pretty fast. That's about it.

As far as the article, I posted it because of the record of his squat.

I'm no expert on weight training but isn't a 600+ squat and awful lot for a 200 pound WR???

PRUITT has to have been the most "raw" WR on a MIAMI team in a long time. He came here from a school/program even smaller than ABILENE CHRISTIAN (GATES' alma mater). PRUITT is 6'2"/208-212ish, and has good hands, and has consistently run a 4.41 "40", so he's got legit deep speed. He was a "project" coming in, so if he's in the process of "arriving", look out! As to all the "PRUITT who" bullsh*t, I'm always amazed to see how many supposed "DOLFANS" don't even follow/know about their own team. Ridiculous!

Pruitt is a WR, not RB. And he's been here about 4 years and has barely got into the game. Even in the preseason last season they didn't throw to him.

I really hate it when I don't notice those typos. I know he is a WR, that's what the thread is about, but thanks for pointing it out.

OK cool, but what is it that makes him so worthless??

Armando reported today that Pruitt has stood out. Why is this meaningless??

Because he is a player that makes ZERO impact and cannot and will not ever make the field in any great contributing capacity. This is a fact. He has been a practice squadder his first 2 years in the league and this is his last year of eligibility. He will not be on this team in 2013.

Wasn't Pruitt one of our better special teams players last year?

Nah.. Youre probably thinking of Wallace. Pruitt had one good tackle from what I remember.

I'm not sure but I think he has used up his practice squad time.

Like Wallace he is big and fast etc etc and can't seem to play well enough to get into games. Again, i might be wrong but I do not think they had a lot of production in college, I do not care what school they went to, I care if they caught 70 plus passes a season.

Our new coaches have nothing invested in this old practice squad WRs. They have brought in either in the draft or UDFAs at least 4 WRs who fit the offense we will be running. This could be the last season in a Dolphin uniform for Moore, Wallace and Pruiit.

Best of luck to them but really, if they have not been able to break into a not that great corp of Dolphin WRs be now, chances are they never will.

Unless they changed it in the CBA, a player can only be placed on the practice squad for the first three years that they are in the league. The 4th year they arent practice squad eligible. This is Pruitt's 3rd year in the league and last year he can be put on the practice squad.. Because of this he'll likely be out of the league next year.

A non factor WR..

Its funny that EVERY offseason people talk about this guy as if he has even a little talent. The dude will never be any more than a practice squader. This is last year he will be practice squad eligible and in 2013 he will not be with the team. Pruitt nothing more than practice squad fodder.

He's a stud on special teams. watch some tape. whether he becomes a WR or not is an unknown as most take a few years to develope. Ya never know. If the guy has some game and steps up, he already has an upside of making the roster because of ST.

Was he the guy that became a steady member of our improved special teams? We have so many " project " wr's I can't even remember now but I do remember someone playing really well.

that would be him, we've been so into marshall had to have so many balls thrown his way, I'm not sure was any receiver can do if thrown to a lot..both Moore and Wallace got hurt last year which hurt their development, I know Marshall was working a lot with Wallace last offseason, so hopefully some of the moves to get off the line of scrimage helped, and hopefully his enzone hands are better than marshalls... You only get better with game reps, without marshall, maybe we get to see a little more of our developing players..

Being a stud on a Miami Dolphins special teams squad is like saying youre the tallest kid on the short bus. I can only recall him making one or two good tackles on ST's. I doubt he is better than Wallace on ST's. Id rather have a legitimate WR and a poor special teams players than a legitimate special teams player and a poor WR.

you can only recall. I can watch the games I taped. The amount of tackle is not as important as actually affecting the runners ability to make it anywhere while your support arrives. There was only one other guy who was consistent making plays "that I recall" and that was Hilliard. He is gone now.

I think you like having crappy special teams

Are you referring to return blocking? I sure hope not because I dont need to go back and watch tape to tell me 90% of our KR's didnt go past the 20.
