And if he signed for $2 you would say you would have liked $1.

    blah blah blah!

I think concern on injury. If teams were not concerned Im sure he would have got a 4 year deal

8.5 for Jake to come home, cut or restructure dimitri Patterson, leaves us with 10 mil, 4 to sign rookies and 6 to bring over to next years cap.. Draft corner 1 and 2a, draft Te at 2b then OG and swopes in the 3rd and call it a great offseason

Plenty of money to get stuff done. That's about how much the Niners and Broncos have had and they have been killing it so far.

It allows us to recoup 4.25 million next year if we need it by not resigning him. (the only risk is if he ends up way better than expected and his resign price goes up)

It also alows us to groom a young guy, be it Ertz or Eifert the draft or Egnew if he comes along.

Miami has more cap money because their new contracts have very low first year costs. More than likely, Ireland will save a chunk of cap and move it back to 2014 to cover the big bumps in that year for the new contracts, but if a first tier target of opportunity arises, Miami still has the bucks to make a move this year.

Sounds great in theory, but there is no TE at 54 worth taking. Eifert is by far the best with Ertz being respectable but neither will make it out of round 1

I think Eifert is gone by 22 in RD1 but Ertz is there until early 2nd rd.

Not a bad signing. I like the one year deal aspect.

At this point I think you go in the direction of Winston (half Long's salary) and draft a LT to compete with the guy we drafted last year. Need to use the extra money to ink Dumerville if he gets released. Otherwise need the money to sign OSI/Freeny/Aabraham and a veteran corner

I think we likely have two more major FA moves. Something with OT and something with a CB. Anything else would be depth and relatively cheap beyond that.

If we can get the correct cap number then we'd be in business. Until then guessing will continue to leave us in the mud.

Forgot we picked up Keller, tight end no an essential need now then switch OG to bottom second and Vance macdonald or escobar in the 3rd with swopes. My dream mock would be
    1. Xavier Rhodes,cb
    2a.Jamar Taylor,cb
    2b. Larry Warcord, OG
3a. Vance macdonald or Escobar, TE
    3b. Ryan swopes, wr

it's hard to argue with $4.25 mil over one year for keller...looks like a good deal...he has to stay hungry and produce to get paid in 2014...

I would be ok with 7.5. He's healthy and can still play.

Let him earn additional years, but you can bet we will draft his replacement THIS year.

Its impossible that we have 16 left when we signed ellerbie and wallace we saved money while cutting burnett and dansby which kept us around 33 mill in cap space they payed for the contract signing wheeler anf keller puts us around 25 to 26 left simple math... idk if you guys knew how much burnett amd dansby made but I can tell u dansby was the highest payed lb and burnett had elerbie type contract so fliping thos to out I believe we made 2 mill that went on top of the 31 mill we started with on free agency.
