Hey Mods, am I blind or did my Killing Time 5/A SuperBowl Comparison get deleted? If so, why. Just curious.
EDIT: Here ya go.....Muck
Since I am fairly new here, if this has been done before I apologize (but it was still fun for me ). I ahve notice alot of threads, one that I have been heavily involved in, about the true chances of this team winning a Super Bowl with Feidler as the starter.
So I decided to comoare his statsduring his 4 years as the starter in Miami with the last 10 Super Bowl winning QB's:
G CMP ATT YDS TD INT PCT QB RAT
'94 S. Young 16 324 461 3969 35 10 70.3 112.8
'95 T. Aikman 16 280 432 3304 16 7 64.8 93.6
'96 B. Favre 16 325 543 3899 39 13 59.9 95.8
'97 J. Elway 16 280 502 3635 27 11 55.8 87.5
'98 J. Elway 13 210 356 2806 22 10 59.0 93.0
'99 K. Warner 16 325 499 4353 41 13 65.1 109.2
'00 T. Dilfer 11 134 226 1502 12 11 59.3 76.6
'01 T. Brady 15 264 413 2843 18 12 63.9 86.5
'02 B.Johnson13 281 451 3049 22 6 62.9 92.9
'03 T. Brady 16 317 527 3620 23 12 69.2 85.9
Feidler 2000 15 204 357 2402 14 14 57.1 74.5
Feidler 2001 16 273 450 3290 20 19 60.7 80.3
Feidler 2002 11 179 292 2024 14 9 61.3 85.2
Feidler 2003 12 179 314 2138 11 13 57.0 72.4
Again if this has already been done I aplogize, if not there you have it. Take for what it's worth and which ever way you want. May prove something ot some people and nothing to others. But at the very least it is interesting and I had fun compiling it. :)
Disnardo.....
Thanks for the info PSG, I guess thats where the ole cliche of "if Dilfer (Balt 2000) can win a SB, so can Fieldler," comes from...
pigskinguy....
True enough....That list reminds me of the ols Seasme Street song......"One of these thing doesn't belong here.............." Dilfer clearly was the exception not the norm.
feelthepain...
I will say that another thing is comparable, Dilfer had an outstanding D to keep the score low giving him a realistic chance to win games. However the one thing about Dilfer he did not turn the ball over. I think that is the biggest problem I have with Jay, this is a problem I feel will never change, add to that Jays inability to stay healthy. I would rather give AJ a shot at winning a SB because I don't want to go into every game with a feeling of doom not knowing which Jay will show up. I feel Jay's time and opportunity has passed, besides teams know how to get to Jay, especially the AFC east teams. We have a new line, new WR, and hopfully a new QB, we will not be the same ol' team team that falls apart at the end of the year.
