This is a very cool story. I am going to buy this dudes book. Imagine if he would've been traded. Sheesh! Also, these kids these days would've needed mental counseling and been put on suicide watch dealing with the real men of the past!! Lol. Good read anyway.

Definite love/hate dichotomy in those glory days, Shula pushed them all to the brink (maybe just a little past), and they all came out better for it. Would never happen now. Also, can you imagine modern players doing this?

He ran down the hall naked with a towel screaming for [equipment manager] Danny to get the alligator out of his shower.”

Phenomenal read. Those guys were such classics. For Keuch to have picked up on Page's "tells" in college and use it against him in the Superbowl is incredible. Also, one of the greatest traits that Shula had was "listening" to his players. Everyone thinks of him as this hard ass and he was, but he was light years ahead of his time in having trust in his players and being on the same page as them.
