Just saw Ben Volin RT a rams reporter on twitter
Yes. Injured or not I want him a Fin. There is a reason he was Drafted 1ast over all.
means he is coming back to miami and we can fill another hole
Interesting development. Wonder if the Dolphins will try and have a sit down with him.
I think he's coming back.
I think he signs with us later in the day

RT @jthom1: After spending parts of 3 days in St. Louis league sources say Jake Long scheduled to leave town his afternoon. Still no deal
Question is does he RT or LT?
Come back but dont crush us on price please...
Ugh there better be verbiage in that contract preventing him from getting a big payday from us if he gets hurt again.
Can't expect to be paid off past peformance Jakey boy. You can have our 6-7 million and stay home.
Give him a one year or short term deal.
Free-agent OT Jake Long (Dolphins) is scheduled to leave St. Louis this afternoon without a contract. Long had been in St. Louis the better part of three days talking to the Rams.

Hope he comes back to Mia and walks into the office just to see jeff Ireland hand feeding Winston Grapes.
I bet his old lady toured St Louis and said screw this. I miss south beach already.
Hahaha that's pretty funny.
Yeah I don't know that this means he comes back to Miami. Other teams could still be in play.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports free agent LT Jake Long is ready to leave St. Louis without a deal Friday, and that "multiple teams" are showing interest.
maybe he is hearing things form other teams besides us too
I would pay him a little extra if he signs a two year deal. That would give him the opportunity to prove he's healthy and then push for a larger extension if needed.
Just cause he left doesn't mean he won't sign with them.
Who the Hell would want to live in St. Louis!!! All they have is great Barbeque and High Crime!!! I'll admit though, the skirt in the family usually wins the "Where we gonna live argument". Lets see what happens next. IF Long does resign for anything in the $8M range it's a win for Miami.
I've been to both St Louis and Miami...
it doesn't even compare, Miami wins in every single way... at least for my tastes.
I remember thinking "is this it" when I was in St Louis.
now thats funny
This situation is bizarre esp. from the Rams end.
i doubt he signs a 2 year deal with any team. He wants a bigger / longer deal probably around 4 years 30$ mil
ala dustin keller
but it does look as if long is trying to find any way possible to NOT go to the rams
LOL... make him an offer he can't refuse...
I was in St Louis once on business. Could not wait to get out of there. Good B B Q. that's about it.
They should discuss a contract at the beach. It's a nice day.
I feel better now that a second set of impartial docs gave him the clean bill of health with a lot of commitment at stake. I think his wife didn't want to leave in the worst way and Jake is feeling now that he's paid his dues with Sparano, Henning, Henne, etc, it would be a shame watch from outside now that the HC's vision is coming to fruition with a lot of exciting parts including a blossoming franchise QB and an elite home run hitting receiver. It's a crappy feeling knowing you can contribute, suffered through the worst only for someone else to experience the elations. :idk:
His agent probably intentionally "leaked" that he was "scheduled" to leave today to get a few extra bucks out of the Rams before he signs.
Nah we should take him to the place with boats! Make Tannehill pay again
C'mon Jake, sign here on the dotted line homey.
I live right near St. Louis and have never been to Miami, but I can only imagine how much better it is.
I'm with you, I'm hoping Jake signs with Miami. It would be a heckuva signing and a well played game by Jeff Ireland if he does come back.
I think the wife will be the deciding factor. She's a star down here and there's no beaches in Ramville.
This needs to be resolved. Bring Long or Winston in so we can wrap up FA.
It's 74 and sunny out outside my backdoor. Hope the weather was crap in St Louis
It's 50 here and I am looking at the snow topped Alps out my front window while watching the Ill vs Ind game. Have I mentioned how much I dislike this place?
Jackie said NO!
There isn't any crime in the suburbs. The suburbs are wealthy, with your typical suburb sprawl. Not sure why people judge St.Louis by the down town inner city area. Nobody goes down there except for the Rams, Cardinals and Blues games. And East St. Louis is where the crime area is, and that's actually in Illinois across the river.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Eagles got involved.
Sounds like Long wants to be a Ram, but the Rams aren't willing to pay him what he wants.
I doubt eagles pay long a ton when the spread offense lowers the importance of offensive lineman due to how quick the ball gets out.
I honestly believe that from the beginning Ireland told Jake to go fetch what he could on the open market and bring it back to him. Ireland has said all along that he wants Jake here for the long term, he just wasn't going to grossly overpay for him. Jeff had a pretty good idea what Jake's market was and this whole situation is just a confirmation of what Ireland likely told Jake.
Cmon Jake!!! I still need to wear your jersey with pride!!!!
Bring him back
I just left St. Louis last week and I don't see how anyone would want to leave Miami for that place. I rode the arch and had some bbq then was ready to get back home to Miami. Literally all the trees there had no leaves and the weather was cold. I got off the plane at Ft. Lauderdale and all I see is green trees and great weather. I figured Jared Cook signing there was due to it being closer to Tennessee than Miami (culture wise)
Once again look at the ravens and pats olines. Only 1 man on either line getting paid over 4million a season. No olineman is worth more than 6 in todays game especially not one who has played "average" for the past two seasons and has gotten hurt in the last three. Even giving him 8 million is insane when you can draft a kid who specializes in zone blocking for 1 million in the second round.

What would be great is if Long and Ireland already agreed to a deal and Jake and Jackie just went out there to jerk Fisher around for 3 days. ... I hate that guy...
