I know the world of the NFL has a salary cap that has been hellish to our defense. But even by adding and substracting things don't add up to me. Here's my beef in detail:

Key defensive guys on the Dolphins: Taylor, Zach, Madison, Surtain, Bowens and Marion.

So so guys: Rodgers (still waiting on him to be the LB everyone hoped he was instead of picking up fights), Greenwood (second year and I'm still waiting on him), A. Freeman (has been horrible since moved to starter) Larry Chester (he is not better than Gardener)

Unproven: Onguleye (jury still out)

Nice Vet: Burnett (actually coming on lately) D. Bowens (must control his temper).

Plain suck: Jamal Fletcher and Jermaine Haley (not even a good backup)

Guys who have left

Kenny Mixon: not a great sack guy but very good against the run and he is sorely missed (could have been signed with the money given to Burnett and Onguleye)

Lorenzo Bromell: Good 3rd guy (better than David Bowens, but the Dolphins could have not signed him and kept Mixon)

Brian Walker: Very hard hitter on both Miami stints, Freeman is younger but is not as hard of a hitter).

Rich Owens: Consistent veteran, who wanted to start but basically a backup at KC now.

Daryl gardener: nobody ran on us with Bowen and him. Because he was not part of the taylor-Zach "clique" he was booted off the team. The Dolphins are really missing him.

Trace Armstrong: This pained me the most since almost every season as a Dolphin he had 10 or more sacks. True he was a third down specialist but Jason Taylor wreaked havoc on 3rd downs thanks to this guy.

Enough said!!

I disliked Mixon it seems like he was a no-show a lot of times.I liked Lo Bro but he needed to control his temper.I miss Armstrong and i felt it was a bad deal on both sides to let him go.I liked Owens when he was here and i thought he was treated badly.Gardener is missed but he was about to become a cancer, there wasn't much you can do.Dont forget to add Larry Izzo on this list, because he was a reliable Special Teamer and backup LB to Zach Thomas.

Fletch has been coming on of late and IMHO he may have turned the corner and on his way to becoming the 1st rd pick they had hoped for.
