I'm gonna go with non-obvious guys I like:

    Quinton Patton
    Mike Gillislee
    Bjoern Werner
    Darius Slay
    Mychal Rivera
    Kevin Minter

Then I'll go the opposite direction and go with guys I don't really like:

Johnthan Banks, Ziggy Ansah, Phillip Thomas, Tyler Wilson, Jordan Poyer, and Keenan Allen (there's a special category for Tyler Bray who I wouldn't even draft in the 7th round)

I should have expanded it to 10 players.

I am with you on Gillislee. Would love to see him on this team. He'd be a perfect fit.

    Great thread idea BassFin!

My six (it's so hard to narrow it down to six!) would be:

    1. Tyler Eifert
    2. Cordarrelle Patterson
    3. Ryan Swope
    4. Justin Hunter
    5. Brian Winters
    6. Michael Mauti

Honorable mention list (I can't help myself!) includes Barkevious Mingo, Robert Woods, Justin Pugh, Bacarri Rambo, Zach Ertz, Cobi Hamilton, Travis Kelce, Mike Gillislee and Chase Thomas. Hell, who am I kidding, I couldn't even do a top 10, so those are my 15 guys, which the Dolphins are almost guaranteed not to draft.

It's just difficult to understand the rules by which these will be judged. If its all about whether 3 or 5 of them turn out awesome then all 6 of your guys should be your favorite 1st rounders.

How about two guys from each day of the draft? Two guys you think are going day one, two you think go day two, and two you think go day three?

It's not how they will be judged, just guys you would love to see as a Fin. We can make it 10 (those of us who did 6 can edit our post).

The idea is to see which guys end up on most lists. Some people will load up on guys who will all go in the top 2 rounds. Some will add some more obscure names.

It's just a way for us to have fun and pass time until the draft is here. I encourage everyone to do it in whatever format floats your boat. As always CK, your way is very structured. But that's cool! I like your idea too. The only rule is it has to be a player you would love to see on aqua and coral.

Love seeing how different everyone's thinking is! And surprised and the number of OL on these lists so far.

    Keep 'em comin'!

My top 10 man crush picks would be (in no order)

    Sylvester Williams DT
    Alec Ogletree LB
    Jamie Collins OLB
    Tank Carradine DE
    Stedman Bailey WR
    Jake Stoneburner TE
    Kiko Alonso LB
    Cordarrelle Patterson WR
    Miguel Maysonet RB
    Jordan Poyer CB

Honorable mentions: Jonathan Cooper OG, Eric Reid S, DJ Swearinger S, Markus Wheaton WR, Reid Fragel OT, Tyler Eifert TE

These are all guys who get me sitting up in my seat watching them. All over the draft, they're guys I maybe feel have something special, or I picked them out before they started rising up charts, or I feel they're undervalued.

In a 3-4, for sure. Maybe even in a 4-3 depending on the needs of your scheme.

But on your list, you have him at DE and risk-flag it for position switch. Do you see him as more of a 3-4 DE than 4-3 DT?

I remember at the beginning of the season the week leading up to Missouri's matchup with Georgia when Richardson was mouthing off about the SEC referring to it as "old man football"... after Georgia thumped 'em by 3 touchdowns, they were holding up signs that read "Grown Man Football" as Missouri proceeded to go 2-6 in the conference.

Prime example of the reason he won't be on the Dolphins' short list at 12. Joe Philbin wants guys who shut their mouths and just show up to work. He doesn't want Sheldon Richardsons.

    For better, and for worse.

Yeah he's a nice talent. One of the few players for Mizzu that would start just about anywhere. Mizzu is vastly overmatched against SEC opposition, but Richardson and Zaviar Gooden are not.

I like the Zaviar Gooden kid.

Zaviar Gooden has what Channing Crowder would refer to as "young, dumb energy". Not in a bad way.

Can't coach that kind of athletic ability though. The kind that makes plays.

I'm torn about Sheldon at tackle though. Feel like he might be more at home on the outside in a 3-4. And of course inside in the nickel, which has become the NFL's new base defense.

That's how I see him. I think he's going to draw interest from teams that use both fronts. If you've got his type of athleticism with long enough arms at that size, teams are going to fall in love with sticking you on the 5 in base with the bonus of reducing you down in rush packages... and Richardson's 34 1/2" arms more than makes him a prime candidate. He's essentially the prototype.
