The Cincinnati Reds did not have a fun night at the ballpark on Saturday night. They were positively drubbed by the Colorado Rockies, who muscled up for five home runs and cruised to an 11-2 victory. When things are going that bad on the field, one can only imagine how miserable things might be in the stands, or even in the broadcast booth, where it's the announcers job to make the mess in front of them entertaining, or at least interesting, to the viewing or listening audience.
The Reds are lucky in that they have a Hall of Famer in Marty Brennaman to fulfill that role. If anyone can make a blowout "listenable", it's Brennaman. Just make sure you don't get those televsion cameras too close, because his body language may tell a different story that's not suitable for televsion.

Immediately made me think of this:

Where they flipping off Drew Goodman and George Frazier? The Rockies tv announcers. The radio guys are much better. George spends the entire broadcast talking about how he loves mayonnaise on his hot dogs. They talk about food more than the game.

Marty Brennaman was actually flipping off Ken Griffey Jr who stopped by the Rockies' announcers booth to discuss food.
