im not a BIG fan of hockey but i follow my team.... Washington Caps!.. yah we had a bad season last time but we got some real good young stars. One thing im worried about is Ovechkin, they say he might not be able to come back... that would suck

    Sabres.

Can't wait until the off-season is in full-swing, Sabres are in great shape. And I can laugh at the Islanders and Leafs for the crap they got themselves into.

I really don't think the Leafs will be in as bad shape as many people think. Once Nolan is bought out and assuming Sundin re-structures his contract, the Leafs will have a decent amount of cap space to play with. As long as Eddie's back can hold out, they shouldn't be too bad off.

Then don't post. This is a thread for hockey fans only. Read the top. We can do without the old, played-out, smart-*** remarks about the NHL.

heres some facts about the CBA in case ya didnt know

after the CBA is official teams will have 6 days to buy out players at two thirds their conract after the 24% rollback and it will not affect the cap...after the 6 days you can still buy out a player but it will count against the cap....teams will have 9 days to sign restricted Free Agents..Draft is a week from Saturday in Ottawa

my favorite team? I have no idea ;)

that said, I can't wait for this new CBA to take effect. No more Wings, Flyers, or 'Gers insane payrolls. And on the flipside, no penny-pinching teams either.

This season will be crazy. All the top teams in the past will struggle some because of the need to play younger, maybe less talented (right now) players.

Hopefully all of your teams have a good GM with an eye for young talent, because in this day and age, that will be HUGE!

oh yea....there will be revenue sharing..i cant remember between who but i wanan say top 8 teams and bottom eight teams

20 teams will make the playoffs

7 and 8 seeds will play 9 and 10 seeds....kinda like a wildcard to get into the playoffs

Not a huge NHL fan, although I do enjoy watching it when it's on.

Bruins fan here. Jacobs got what he wanted, a lockout and now this team is in arguably the most desirable financial situation in the league. NO MORE excuses Jacobs, go spend some money.

Can't wait to see Bergeron play after his AMAZING rookie season last year.

Yes, I am a Devil fan also, I have my Ken Daneyko signed program form the Panthers vs Devils (Monday March 17, 1997) and my two pictures of signed Martin Brodeur on my wall in my Fins room.

But I must say I lost a lot of interest after the strike and really don't give a hoot about it right now! It may change, but they really screwed up (Both sides)!

Unfortunately, new CBA or no, I will put "Jacobs spending on the B's" safely in the "I'll believe it when I see it" category. If Jacobs shows he gives a damn, then I'll come back to hockey. If it's same old, same old, I'll start following English soccer or something.

Sadly enough, I have to agree with you. Jacobs might be the worst owner in all of sports. Boston is a big time hockey town, and because he's a cheap bas*ard, he has almost singlehandedly killed the city's love for the Bruins. It's too bad really...

Good to see another Bruins fan on the board. I've always enjoyed reading your posts on the Mets, it'll be interesting and enjoyable to listen to your thoughts on the Bruins throughout the season. Looking forward to it.

Bill Wirtz is much worse. The Blackhawks are so awful that they are at the top of the list behind Pittsburgh for contraction. We're talking about Chicago here, and no one cares at all...quick, name a Blackhawk!

    Brian Berard.

Man was I p*ssed when the Bruins let him walk. Much like Rolston and Guerin. Damn, I hate Jacobs, he let Knuble go to Philly this past offseason, so cheap.

Thanks! I'm sure my love for hockey will come back at some point, and dumb@$$ that I am, I'll get my hopes up over the B's again.

However, I'd rate Donald Sterling as the worst owner in sports, with Bill Wirtz second. Jacobs is in the top 5 (bottom 5?) for sure, though.

OK, so we've got Bryan Berard and Alexei Zhamnov. That's about it...I'll throw in Jocelyn Thibault and Jarkko Ruutu as legit NHLers...I mean, the team had a goalie named Passmore for a few years...not a good sign.
