Dre Bly just hit the free agent waters!!!

    http://www.denverbroncos.com/page.php?id=334&storyID=8848

I like the idea of bringing him in and maybe even Chris McAllister as veterans to play a couple of years as we develop young talent. I'd even consider them specialty players, lining them up against certain players giving our Defense favorable match-ups. Having either one of them in the mix makes us better.

Dre Bly really hasn't been a shut down corner since maybe his last year with the Lions? He was very good with the Rams for a while too, but his best days are behind him now, this season in Denver showed that.

My friend who's a diehard Broncos fan hates him.

He hasn't impressed me the last few years.

    I'll pass.

No Fellahs... Its not about having these guys as starters, but in the mix in every game would definitely not hurt us. CB is about reading the plays and savvy CB always seem to come up with plays against those 2nd and 3rd WR. Remember Aaron Glenn, Rod Woodson, even Deion played well in old age. 10 to 15 plays max for these guys at the right price could pay big dividends, you guys have selective memory... The Pats do this and they get by just fine. What this would allow us to do is focus on the Safety position and our front seven in the meantime.

    Dre Bly

Sorry if this has already been posted. didnt get to get on forums til late today. So since he was released, what about looking at him. i say no because he is 31 or 32 and our whole secondary is around that age. then again, he could always mentor the younger guys that we bring in. what do you guys think??

I think he might be one of those cancer type players but I dont know. i dont folow the lions (like anyone does) I just remember him saying all that stuff about Joey Harrington, he was way out of line on that one. I dont like that type of player. Talk all the crap you want about other teams players but dont ever diss your teammates.

no thanks hes probably the last CB I would want on the fins. He is a horrible tackler hes up in age and if we want to grab him why not just keep Goodman they are basically the same just we already know what we are getting out of Goody

I don't know why we'd bring in any of the guys from the Broncos' D other than Champ Bailey or DJ Williams.

Denver's D was terrible, so you know if a player is getting cut from there, they have to be miserable.

Bly at his best was always an overrated guy. Denver took a nice cap hit to release him, that should tell us all we need to know.

A bit overvalued IMO. If he was as good as everyone thinks than why would the Broncos cut him AND take a cap hit to do it? I would say there is something there that we should stay away from

If the price is worth it then there should not be a reason why he would not be welcomed here. Corner is not our strongest point anyhow.

I think CB is an overvalued position relative to the projected high end FA CB (Nmandi, if not tagged) contract. There are lots of good options out there now, like Bodden, Bly, Brigsby (one time Phin), and McAlister that would leave us more money to spend on players for the defensive front 7, oline, and WR. Lots of people are sayin BMores' Center Brown and ILB Scott are FA priorities if they hit the market.

Also, with all these proven veteran CBs out there, will this drive down Nmandi Asomugha's worth? The ole supply and demand rule seems like it would come into play a bit. I think he gets tagged anyway.

I think he was released because he was due $6 Million+ this year.

Really hoping one of the top 3 CB's drop to us wtih the 1st pick or we find a diamon in the ruff with a later draft pick.

I really would love to develop 2 young CB's together sort of like what we had in Surtain and Madison, Yes I know they were drafted 1 year a part i beleive.
