bell might be gone soon..............

I dont see how the free spending Jets can have more cap than us

I thought that number looked low as well. I do not think it takes into account the 1.6 million we get from the Redskins / Cowboys violations, plus what we can carry over from last year etc. There may be other stuff, but I am not that up on all the salary cap stuff.

According to Omar Kelly (yea...I know :rolleyes2:) this is what it comes out to:

"The bottom line is the Dolphins have approximately: $11,816,017 to spent BEFORE borrowing another $2 million. That brings us to an estimated budget of $13.8 million the Dolphins have to use before restructuring contracts, or cutting players."

The entire article:

we have more than 9.8 i can tell you that much.

1)how much additional cap space can we get by cutting Bell?? 2)How much (estimated) can we get by restructuring contracts of the big money makers (Dansby comes to mind)

Nublar7 is saying in another post that we resigned Merling, Murtha, Mastrud, and Spitler so there goes some of our cap dollars, not sure how much though.

here it is...from Omar...
All the spending the Dolphins have done tendering their own restricted free agents (Lydon Murtha, Phillip Merling) and exclusive rights free agents (Austin Spitler and Jeron Mastrud) has used up $4.98 million in cap space. That leaves the Dolphins with $9.8 million to use in free agency RIGHT NOW.

hopefully the restructuring and cutting of Bell comes next to free up space
