The Dolphins struggled at the start and end of the 2009 NFL regular season as they lost their first three and last three games of the season on their way to a 7-9 record. While the offense was in the iddle of the pack (15th in scoring at 22.5 PPG), the primary reason for the up and down season was a defense that allowed 24.4 PPG to rank 25th in the NFL. The off season has seemed to be an arms race between the Dolphins and New York Jets as the two teams have done everything they can to one up each other and unseat perennial division powerhouse the New England Patriots. The major off season splashes for Miami were the acquisition of linebacker Karlos Dansby and wide receiver Brandon Marshall. The sports betting odds makers at SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Miami Dolphins +1300 odds to win the 2011 AFC Championship Game.

The Dolphins used virtually their entire NFL draft to address the defense. Seven of their eight selections were for defense. Leading the way was the pick of Penn State defensive end Jared Odrick with the 28th selection. Linebacker Koa Misi from Utah and AJ Edds out of Iowa were chosen in the second and fourth rounds respectively and will provide depth and energy to the defense. Maryland cornerback Nolan Carroll and strong safety Reshad Jones from Georgia will eventually be given a chance to play on a unit that started two players who were over 30 years of age last season. The sports betting odds makers at online sportsbook SBGGLOBAL.com have the Miami Dolphins -105 odds to win OVER 8.5 games in their 2010 NFL Regular Season Schedule.

The AFC East will be a tough battle between the Dolphins, Jets and Patriots and those head to head battles will be crucial in determining which team wins the division title. After opening the season at Buffalo and Minnesota, the Dolphins host the Jets and Patriots in back to back weeks when the weather will still be very warm in Miami. However, the tradeoff is games at New York (December 12th) and New England (January 2) when the weather will likely be very unpleasant in the Northeast. In addition to Minnesota, the Dolphins face a challenging non-division schedule that includes Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Tennessee and Chicago. The sports betting odds makers at SBGGLOBAL.com have made 2011 Super Bowl Predictions on the Miami Dolphins listed at +3000 odds.

I think we will have a solid season. I would even put us in the playoffs.

I definatley think we go to the playoffs baring any major injuries. I really think the addition of David Martin back in the lineup (if he regains his 08 form) will prove to be huge. Ronnie looks healthy so u know the wildcat should be back to being a major factor in our offensive gameplan, and Brandon Marshall is going to make everyone else around him better (i.e. Hartline, Bess, Camarillo, Fasano).
