There was that moment on Sunday when the Miami Dolphins still had a chance to make this a tight game.

(Yeah, there weren’t too many of those so you have to assume something interesting is coming.)

Anyway, the Dolphins were trailing 21-10 and had the football on the New England Patriots’ 15 yard line. Quarterback Matt Moore wanted to throw to DeVante Parker in the end zone. And Parker, who the Dolphins believe is their most gifted receiver, was in one-on-one coverage against Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore.

Moore underthrew the football. And Parker, seeing the underthrow, did absolutely nothing to stop his route, convert to a defensive back, and at least knock the ball down.

Armando seems to sum up alot of our thoughts..

That is on Parker and nobody else. Also, he was drafted by the former regime and has clearly not planned out as hoped

The point of the article though, is it goes much deeper than just that, which could be a problem going forward.

I have to agree with Mando here. Our FO can't evaluate to save their life. I'm hoping for a high but I'm afraid the FO will mess that up too

I don’t disagree with some of Armando’s points. Moore absolutely needs to go and we should draft a qb early. However, Prior to this season, did anyone not think that wr wasn’t a strength of this team? Losing tannehill has clearly effected this offense far more than anyone would have thought.

I think changes are coming during the off season, especially after this dumpster fire of a year we're having.

Well the verdict was still kinda out on Parker, although we thought he was coming along with the rest of the offense and the QB seemed to have chemistry with all three- just not a TE.

Yes absolutely. This was the year we find out who Parker is. I think we’ve found out unfortunately

I don't think he's trying to pick on the WR's.......I think it's more that the FO keeps making bad decisions. Btw, this goes back a long time.
Since Marino was drafted back in 83 this team has drafted a total of ONE player that is in the HOF. That's one HOF player in the last 34 years. The bad drafting and moves have been horrible for years and of course I can't blame the current FO for 34 years but they have done nothing to make things better and do not deserve the benefit of the doubt till they prove that they can build a winning team

It's just so disappointing, I understand we lost our stating QB but name a player who has improved from last year to this year? I'm struggling for a name.

Good defensive mind, would very much enjoy having him as defensive coordinator over Burke. The downside to a Rex Ryan coached defense tends to be a lack of discipline, but hell we already have that covered anyway!

I don't know if we truly found out who Parker is yet...he has had what 4 different qbs in 3 years? Cutler and Moore don't have the arm to use Parkers tools and Parker was hurt a lot last year...if anything we have seen he is injury prone which sucks

I believe Stills has gotten better thought sometimes they don't seem to use him enough. Phillips has gotten a little better but nothing super special. On the other hand several players have gotten worse. Timmon, Alonso, Branch, Pouncey to name a few

Yes that is true. I do think we know that he’s not aj green which was what we were hoping. He’s an nfl player for sure and would be a lot more effective with a better qb.

FO? How about the coaching staff? Gase signed off on the OL. He still insists Cutler can play. He thinks Parker has value. He has made questionable hires for assistants. At what point does it sink in that he is every bit a part of the problem?

Only QB that should come back is Tannehill. But good lord don't just guarantee him the job. Get some legit competition at that position.

I agree that he's part of the problem. I said earlier that I'd be ok if he was let go. We need a HC that can take charge of the whole team while Gase seems to still be thinking as an OC only. He's had to deal with a lot of stuff this season but I'm not giving him a pass. Having said all that, I believe the problem starts at the top

Just basically affirms/confirms what long-term fans have been subjected to for 20 years...

Ownership sucks and everything underneath sucks as well.

    Simple formula.

suck FU + suck HC + suck Staff & suck Roster = SUCK PRODUCT.

Ross is, and has been, the SOURCE of suck since 2008.

So has Landry and Stills. And neither are half as bad as Parker. It feels like everytime we throw to him something terrible happens

WR needs retooled big time. Trade Parker, Let Landry walk, cut Grant and give Caroo a larger role, see if he's worth wasting more time on and draft parker's replacement with his trade compensation (3rd rd sounds about right)

Some complain Gase got rid of an All-Pro RB, but it's Baum's fault cause he can't judge talent. Dump on coaches for letting good talent go (e.g, OV), but the scouting dept is AWFUL

Parker is probably gone this offseason and they resign Landry. At some point are they going to see what they have in Doughty? They can't go into next season with no contingency plan if Tannehill gets hurt again. Matt Moore is not an acceptable option.

Agreed the scouting department is awful but personnel is a combined effort. That has been quoted numerous times by FO and coaching staff. It was combined in New York as well. Worked with Mangini not with Rex. Its obviously not working now.

How on earth does anyone see that int as parkers fault?? Double coverage?.....That should've been back pylon not short jump ball against 2 defenders.

Well they both took some responsibility along with Gilmore saying he knew the route. I think we beat it to death at this point as far as assigning blame - The thing is I want (expect) Parker to ‘win’ more and he hasnt been able to for whatever reason since he has been here is all.

Patriots cornerback Stephone Gilmore, who made the interception, said he knew Parker’s route.

“They ran that route on us earlier in the first quarter and I knew they were going to come back to it,” Gilmore said. “I know every time Parker is in the slot he runs the seam empty so I just beat him to the spot.”

Parker had only one catch for five yards on Sunday. Why are so many passes to Parker resulting in interceptions?

“I mean, that’s hard to say,” Gase said. “I mean, every play is a different play.”

Moore said his pass was a “little short. That’s all I can say about that one.”

Told that Parker accepted responsibility, Moore said: “And I can throw a better ball.”

And in four lines above, you see the difference between Adam Gase and Bill Belichick, and how that translates to wins and losses.
