Good. Now we need Winston/Anderson
im not huge on the pick up, but we need a qb. he may not be the answer but atleast we know the system, he is confident, and he is a winner.
I really really hope Flynn is the answer. right now I'm thinking he is not.
Let's get this done!
At worst he's competition for Moore, who looked decent down the stretch. At best he's our franchise QB for the next 10 years. I'm not a massive Flynn fan but he's worth a shot.
Everyone keep your fingers crossed he's not another backup QB blunder. Remain hopeful! I just hope we don't give him a large contract
At least 1 of them hopefully.
But I just don't see how we'll have enough cap room between Flynn, Anderson, Winston & still have $ left over to sign our draft picks
We are all in with him. There are no excuses about the system. Surround him with some weapons and lets hope he is NOT another backup gone starter of the previous few years. We didn't use a 2nd round draft pick on him, so he is already doing better...lol
From Dueling Chad's to Dueling Matt's.
It will be Flynn's job...No comp.
Philbin (who knows a lot more about football and about Flynn than any of us do) is staking his job on it. That makes me feel pretty confident about this kid. I truly believe that us going after Manning was all about what Ross wanted. Remember, it is his team. Not that I would have been disappointed, quite the contrary, however I am happy that there is someone like Flynn available. He will bring a little familiarity to the huddle which our offense will need being that they will be implementing a whole new system.
Next Manningham ?
If we cut Bell and Fasano, Marshall @ FS, restructure Dansby and Long, sign Flynn, Anderson and Winston, then draft WR and TE, I'm feeling pretty good about our offseason...considering...
Practice wil be a hoot " Hey Matt ... no the other Matt"
I remember people having a lot of doubts about Aaron Rodgers as well when he started out, but he learned the game and stepped up when he got the chance. Flynn played in an NCAA title game, and against tough SEC competition. He's ready!!!!
I'd rather take a chance on him than Manning, but can't say I'm thrilled. Just hope for the best.
I expect us to hear of the signing, then shortly after the cutting of Yeremiah Bell
Lets say we do sign him, then they better adress our other issues. They need to sign Winston, draft a couple of WRs and we also need a free safety and another pass rusher

If we cut Bell, then we have no safeties. That Marshall guy is a cb who can play fs. We need a real safety.
I understand what your saying, however Bell is the most likely cap casualty....at best he kept on the team at a reduced(restructured) contract.
One way or another, someones gonna have to put back a few cookies into the cookie jar......
Wait, Bell is a safety?
Let's see.... Like stated before at least we're not giving up draft picks to get him... Hope he's the answer... If he's a Schaub type qb I'll be good with it
Better get him some weapons or this is destined for failure.
Much like the Philbin hire, I'm not on board with this douchey looking Saban recruit. So I'll just back away from these forums for awhile and let you all enjoy the excitement of believing we just picked up the next Marino.
lol, rodgers was a 1st round pick. please dont compare rodgers to flynn.
Trivia - What do the following players have in common?? -
Chad Pennington, Olindo Mare, Don Strock, Pete Stoyanovich and Matt Flynn.
Sounds like many of you are already throwing him under the bus, just cuz he wasn't drafted early? Tom Brady was overlooked the same way.
they all wear wore #10
All signed with Miami as free agents who wear #10?
Brady was 6th, Marc Bulger was 6th, Hasselbeck 6th and Romo was undrafted...admittedly it's unlikely but we lose nothing in bringing the guy in...at worst he's competition.
If so, we got the third best answer we could have this year behind Luck and Manning. I'm not thrilled about him, but I agree giving him a shot is the direction to go at this point. Hoping for the best for him and from him.
We have a winner!!! I'll get you a pitcher of MGD at Kelley's.
and ill purchase the next!
I will take flynn as an upgrade at QB
cmon roman you are killing me , a brady comparison too.
brady was once a once in a blue moon. i dont want a bulger, hasselbeck or romo equivalent as our future qb, all those guys are mediocre. next.
He's not going to be competition for anything, I wish people would stop saying this. If they sign him, he'll be starting, regardless of whether Moore outperforms him. That being said, if Philbin does, against ignore the FO and allow a true competition, my respect level for him will skyrocket. Not counting on it though. It may be out of his hands.
I doubt he signs here to be competing with anyone. If Flynn signs he is our qb
Aww come on give him a chance. I'm worried but for once we are about to get a QB that actually has real potential, not just some castaway.
they were all mentioned together in the same sentence for in-obvious reasoning?.......oh and they all were #10
I'm predicting Flynn will be the second best QB of the AFC East at the very least, although thats not saying much.
Yep, you are correct :-(
Clyde Gates wears #10
We already have the second best QB in the AFC east in Matt Moore. Fitzpatrick was brutally bad the last 10 games or so and Sanchez, lol. I'd rather have Brian Hoyer .
IMO I JUST DONT SEE THAT , if moore dose outperform flynn then i see moore starting , but imo im going to sit bk and let it play out ., i just heard on NFLN that all that seattle is offering flynn is nomore than 4mil a year.
It's not like has done anything to deserve keeping that number...
and what has flynn done?
