Like a weathered man trying to recount the days of old, Dolphins wide receiver Davone Bess became more excited Wednesday each time he remembered a former teammate who was still on the roster when he first arrived in South Florida.
``David Kircus,'' he started. ``Um, Derek Hagan. And Ted Ginn Jr., of course. Greg Camarillo. Oh, and Tab Perry! Remember him?''
Bess, in just his third season with the Dolphins, is an NFL infant -- a rising star whose stock has ascended with each of his 156 catches.
But at a position that has seen constant change since he arrived, Bess is now Miami's longest-tenured receiver.
Good news for Miami: It appears likely he won't need to remember any more names. The current crop of receivers has the look of a unit that could be here for a while.
``It's comforting,'' Bess said. ``It just gives us a sense of security, knowing we're going to have the same group of guys for the next couple of years.''
