Just 4 seconds remained after quarterback Matt Moore spiked the football.
Time for one last play just 5 yards from the end zone. Moore grabbed the snap, fired to his right and hit receiver Davone Bess at the goal line as his he crunched into a defender stopping him cold.
The final whistle blew. The defense celebrated. But was it a touchdown?
"Oh, man I'm fair and honest," Bess said. "I wasn't in. I was close, but I wasn't in. I rushed the route a little bit. Got to be patient."
The enthusiastic end of Day 2 of a Dolphins' three-day minicamp Wednesday was as clear from the smile on general manager Jeff Ireland's face. And judging from the excitement in Moore's voice, it was evident he felt good finally showing reporters how he could handle the first-team snaps.
