I believe it comes down to Jay Cutler and his attitude as far as not just when things are going well but also when things start to go downhill,” Harrison said on an NBC conference call for the network’s NFL studio show. “Will he stand up? Will he be the face of that locker-room? Will he be able to go ahead and have conversations?

“We’ve see the way he’s acted in the past and conducted himself where his teammates would say that he’s selfish, that he’s not a leader. These type of things - you have to be a leader if you want to go to the playoffs, go to the Super Bowl. You need the leadership at the quarterback position.

Agree that the guy needs to show leadership thick and thin.

Here is the thing.....he has had a certain receiver a good majority of his career that has created locker room issues a good portion of his career. Yes, he needs to be a leader as he is the QB......but a lot of his past is overblown and definitely not completely his fault.

^ agreed, I think he has gotten a bad rap but we'll see.

He deserves everything that comes his way. They're not just making this up, or pulling out of there ass. But now that he's a dolphin he 's doesn't deserve ridicule. Please.

Nothing like extremism.......

From one end to the other.

Does he deserve criticism....of course.

Does he deserve all the criticism he has received?....no.

He has responded poorly to a bad situation in Chicago...often trying to do too much to compensate for a mediocre football organization...leading to the perception by some that the entire situation was his fault...it was not. He deserves criticism for the mess in Chicago, but so does the coaching and management.

The rational perception realizes that it takes a team to win championships...takes great coaching...great management.

The Great Dan Marino couldn't do it by himself..and suffers a somewhat diminished legacy because of it and rules changes that turned Brady, Manning & Brees into more prolific QB's and made a mockery of the passing records.

Cutler needs to be more the smarter more efficient QB that Adam Gase fostered in Chicago...and less of the Brett Favre gunslinger.

I believe that will happen and this will be a good year.

If he was a jet you would be slamming him, and I can't believe you brought Dan into this conversation. Dan never pouted like a baby, walking on and off the field like somebody peed in his fruit loops, and his teams were just as bad as those bears teams.

It almost seems like Cutler became a bit of a lightning rod because he didn't attempt to mask his appearance when things went negatively in Chicago. The media enjoyed whipping up drama and he didn't look or answer like Russell Wilson in front of the cameras. Jay now has a Head Coach who is fully behind him and don't be surprised if we see less of the pouty face. He seems to be enjoying the change of scenery and he appreciates the talent around him. We live in hope...

Unless you are really special, most NFL players have their critics. It is what it is. Cutler has some things to prove. He's aware of it. Sometimes stepping away and then coming back to something gives you a new perspective, perhaps even an appreciation for it. Hopefully Cutler will make the most out of this opportunity. Due to his age, etc., it's most likely his last.
