One of our 5ths should be enough right?

Well I'm happy. All you draft gurus can debate the details, but all I wanted was Miami to address the defense. Last year they addressed offense. This year had to be D, and in FA and the draft they did just that, addressing the pass rush, the long flailing LB position, and given our secondary another boost of youth.

Guard remains the big question mark. But I trust Gase to scheme around it IF it's not addressed tomorrow.

    Have a good weekend, #FinsUp!

Tanks has been flagged for pass interference eight times the last two years. So.....four times on average in a college season. Is that considered a lot?

I hope Tanny takes out casualty insurance because he is going to need it.

While I'm not disappointed with getting a CB if he's quality, I'm REALLY worried that we have completely ignored the OL again in the draft (so far). Unless we are spending two of our 3 5th's on OL, I'm afraid Tanny will have 3 seconds or less to throw the ball again this year. I know some are going to say we can still get a vet in FA after the draft, I really think they don't have any plans on doing that. Maybe a gem or two will still be there in the 5th.

You think you could get a team to trade 4th for a 5th. I would hire you today if you could pull that off.

We can get nothing but Guards in the 5th 6th and 7th.

    That'll add plenty of depth.

I fully expect us to get an OG in the 5th, or we may trade up for one. Great pick with Tank

I thought we were trying to develop Tannehill?

Is our o-line better than it was last season?

    Albert--Tunsil--a Center--Bushrod--James

    Tunsil--Larson--A Center--Bushrod--James

We had a chance to bump out either Larson or Bushrod...our Quarterback Whisperer might have to whisper to Tannehill because yelling will affect his future concussions.

We needed a corner. We had three guys who had good spurts last year and none who feel like a sure thing. People want to whine about the offense but we are returning nearly everyone there and had no problem putting up 30 spots with a backup QB on the road. While Ajayi probably won't get three 200 yard games we've got some other guys like Drake and maybe Caroo/Grant that should be ready to contribute more. And maybe this year Davante will just get the uterine inplant so he doesn't miss time with his monthly. By the end of the year that defense simply could not stop anybody. On top of that there are nearly no young building block players on that side of the ball. This draft needed to happen.

Thank you. Exactly. Our D finished the season atrociously, and that was with a respected DC scheming whose already been snatched up to be a HC. All the protection in the world for Ryan isn't going to help if him and the offense have to put up 30ppg.

I think you can get gemds in the later round with guard. A tackle or good center would be another story, but I'm not worried and think they can find one with one of their 5th rd picks tomorrow.

Well, the pick was not a surprise. Time will tell if we took the right guys but we needed to do something with that defense and we did. Believe me, I want a guard as much as everyone else but how can we argue with defense at all 3 levels(d-line, LB and DB)?.......I can't see us trading into the 4th round without trading our 3rd next year once again. I hope we don't do that. We'll probably draft a guard in the 5th along with a DT and a FS

But Deion Sanders didn't either. I know he's not going to be a Deion Sanders, but I wanted to say that ha. But seriously if you're coverage is good enough, it eases the problem of not providing support against the run. But yeah, he will need to be a lockdown corner or be a pretty good cover corner to make up for that...

The flipside of that coin is that this year, the defense will have to hold the opposition to 15 ppg...

    Impossible...no.

    Unlikely...yes.

We could have drafted three guaranteed HOFers and someone would still find a way to be negative.

B+ draft so far. Need at least 1 OL and 1 DT/DE tomorrow.

Realize the same things happen in the organizations themselves; between scouts, in draft meetings, the assembly of a team's big board. It's not just this forum. People's opinions here and the paid professionals that work for the team differ on what they see and who they want. Not a big deal.

One of the best things a defense benefits from the most is a strong running game eating up the clock, letting them rest, and keeping the other teams offense off the field...
